Democrats make promises to constituents about how they will establish programs to assist those who need aid and support the most for those who qualify. Then make rules to lower the standards and encourage those interested to be LESS self sufficient and dependent on receiving aid. Funded by the Government. Free money, free food, free medical, free college. Etc. Basically the carrot on a stick for gullible people to reach for but never really allowed to obtain. Republicans encourage its constituents to be self sufficient and contributing members of society. The effort is to reduce the number of those who CHOOSE to be dependent on the government for money so those who actually NEED assistance and programs get a better quality. Understanding that the more folks working and contributing has potential to reduce the income taxes required because there is a bigger pool to draw from. Basically affords OPPORTUNITY.

I'm also from Illinois. Chicago has been completely dominated by democrats since 1930. By now it should be a model city for the entire world, if the democrat's philosophy were true. I've been a Republican most of my life, except for a short time when I registered as an independent. When I found out I couldn't vote in the primaries I switched back. Like a lot of people I followed what my parents believed, but like everyone does at some point I had to decide what I believed. I looked at both parties and frankly I didn't like what I saw going on in the Democratic party, and what they stood for. I believe in common sense, the Constitution, and strong old-fashioned values. And while the Republicans are far from perfect, they seemed to best reflect those things. Especially today. I don't need some Democrat telling me that it's okay to kill a baby that has been living outside his/here's mother's uterus because that mother wanted an abortion and the child still has to be looked after by his/her mother. That's just outright murder. I think I'll just stick with the Republicans.

You're right, but now there's less RINOS, but we need to get rid of the "no Trumpers", which I believe is part of that same group. The only light I see for that is a lot brighter now than in 2016 because they've exposed exactly who they are, and the people are sick and tired of their ilk. If things progress as they have been, or get better, then a whole new wave of people will take some of these seats and not only from the dems, but from these holdouts in their own party. I don't know if you believe in the power of prayer, that is your choice and business, but my prayers are that we will have this last chance to undo some of the evil done under this administration and Congress.

I grew up and lived in Oakland, California for more than 30 years. I always voted for Democrats politicians. I never saw any good results from voting for the Democratic Party. Just like Devin, in my 30’s I saw the reality that the Democratic Party was and is not doing anything for us. I finally opened my eyes and saw reality. I literally fought to go to school and graduate from college. I landed a good job through my hard work and finally had a checking sand savings account. I was able to move away from my home town which in a way was heart breaking. I always had believed that the Democratic Party will help us in anyway to advance ourselves out of poverty, violence and a broken system but that was and is still just a dream. Just like Devin, I also became a conservative/Republican. I started to see the reality of what was going around us, which was that the Democratic Party is just a scam. My friends that got sucked into the system never made it out. They either became drug addicts, ended up in prison and many of them died. We never received any help from our Democratic politicians to better our city, to make it safer, to feel save, to give us an opportunity to better ourselves. We need tougher laws on criminals and tougher District attorneys. Democrats just did the opposite. They released tough criminals early, they made felonies into misdemeanors and shut down prisons. That made my city even worse. Like I mentioned, the democrat party are a bunch of phony, power hungry group that are good for nothing. The only good thing they are good for is to take your tax money and make not only themselves rich but their friends.

I don't know how old you are, but as a GenXr I truly believe another huge part of the problem, is most people after my generation, and ESPECIALLY in the last decade, have been told they are victims and they are doomed from the start! Fun Fact..Many years ago when i resided in California..i was a young father with 4 children and a run away wife/ mother...So I had to Go on public assistance ...well getting a well paying job..i attempted too drop public assistance...feeling real good about my success with being a good dad...well California. really made it difficult. using CPS. telling me I was not providing proper care ( Baby sitter services)..and it w was STRONGLY SUGGESTED..I STAY HOME...and stay on WELFARE ...I refused ..and they threatened to take my children away.. and I quote men cannot properly raise children alone..(2 boys 2 girls) ..long story short I moved out of orange county...moved too San Berdo ...and filed for divorce and ended up with 100% custody and 100% parental rights...the mother lost all..i represented myself and children in court...on grounds of abandonment...total legal costs was about 500$ ...and I got away from welfare..yes they try and keep you dependant...I am white..and 35 years later still holding my own...

Very True!!!! I grew up in a Democratic community and then I married and moved to a republican community and the different between the two communities was a wake up call. The schools, neighborhoods, police responds, etc. we’re mind blowing. It is with this realization that I said Why can’t everyone’s communities look and have equal footing? The Democrats in California attempted to pass through legislation (Prop-16) that would have stripped California's constitution of its anti discriminatory provisions. Specifically, proposition 16 would have repealed the 1996 California Proposition 209 which amended the California constitution and prohibits government institutions from considering race, sex, or ethnicity, specifically in the areas of public employment, public contracting, and public education. In other words, if passed, it would have allowed California to discriminate against people based on their race, sex, or ethnicity. There are people who think that this thinking is ok because it was primarily meant to target white straight males to ensure that minorities were in the workforce at "equal" levels. So, like the Democrats of the past they still think discrimination based on race, sex, or ethnicity is ok.

I've been a fan of Dinesh's for a long time, and it's so encouraging to see young people (I'm a Boomer) discover people like him, and the others you mentioned - Thomas Sowell, Candace Owens, Officer Tatum, and more. Like you, I grew up in a Democrat household. My parents both worked for the Federal government in DC. I worked on my first campaign at age 4, carrying a sign. My mother worked with both Stenny Hoyer & Nancy Pelosi. You can say my family was ingrained in politics. But also like you, when I got into business & understood capitalism, I became a Republican. So you have a new subscriber in me, and a new fan! Keep up the good work of spreading the truth. There IS hope for the next generation!!

Thank you for your content @Devin I never registered with a party. My grandmother used the 'two wings - one bird' analogy before I understood its meaning. Admittedly, I held liberal ideals until I matured and came to 'The truth' that set me free. I praise Almighty GOD for my grandmother. She KNEW raising a child in the way they SHOULD go would help us when we were older (and wiser) to not depart from it!

Exactly and several companies in my large city wanted to start franchises in the poorer parts of it and the city commission for that Democratic run area said ="no we want the demographics to stay the same, including the incomes." So one can see the large companies are not to blame for the cast down and poverty stricken areas in the big city.

You can't argue with D'Souza's analogy and if you can we'd all like to hear your rebuttal. I'm in my mid 70's and have traveled on business to all the cities he's mentioned and many more that he hasn't. You can marvel at the beauty you see in each one, but there always was an area where the locals living there advised you not to go to that area. After doing this for some 50 years, the advice I received on my first visit never changed, nor did the bad areas. In fact, the bad areas continued to get larger. The northeast city I have lived in my whole life is heavily Democratic and fits D'Souza's description to a tee. Areas I frequented in my younger days are more dangerous to visit and more rundown. Drugs, robbery, rape, and random shootings occur daily .. it's become the norm. Every democratic mayor has made strong promises to stop it but nothing has changed We've had nothing but Democratic mayors since I was born. My parents weren't wealthy and lived in some of the bad areas of today. They were fortunate to find decent jobs, worked hard, and moved us to the suburbs in the 50's. They voted Democratic up until the 1980's. They saw what D'Souza is saying from that point forward.
