About The Talk:
Nyasam is an important aspect of Sri Vidya practices. The word nyasa means to hold or place- energy is placed at particular points in the body. Awareness is held at that particular location to the exclusion of all else. Bijaksharas, mantras or parts of a mantra are thus visualised and the energy is invoked into the respective places in the body.
There are many , many different types of nyasas. Here, we learn what is known as Matruka Nyasam. The word matruka refers to mother, here it refers to the alphabets of the Sanskrit language. These alphabets are verily the mother of the evolution of the universe from the primordial sounds that emanated from the drum beats of Shiva's damaru. These sound vibrations give rise to the bija aksharas which in turn form the mantras, grammar, prose, poetry, literature, yoga sutras , music, dance and all knowledge forms through the medium of sound.
The entire alphabet of Sanskrit has a specific place in the chakras of our body. They are said to be the form of Saraswati Devi Herself.

About The Speaker:
Radha Marthi and Rama Kandarpa are the daughters of Guruji Amritananda Natha Saraswati, the founder of Devipuram. Radha is a SriVidya practitioner engaged in teaching the various courses offered both online and at Devipuram itself. Rama is a civil engineer by qualification but a development practitioner both in NGO and public sectors.
