@@nheald8502 Hey, Neil is from the old Folk tradition, of using existing melodies and putting new lyrics to them...He even recorded a song called Borrowed Tune in the 70s, with the lyrics: I'm singin' this borrowed tune I took from the Rolling Stones Alone in this empty room Too wasted to write my own

I'm 57 and I agree. I thought they were just a flash in the pan gimmicky band in the '80's. Watching their videos now, I'm much more appreciative of what good musicians and songwriters they actually were.

Devo = Icons Many people today (and back then) didnt know how to take them. Allow me to help you a wee bit. Combine catchy melody with wacky but great presentation and you've taken the first step. It's the total personality of the band, the whole potato that grabs you.

I went to college in Austin Texas and NEVER will forget seeing DEVO play live at a record Store and then later at the Concert. These guys were cutting Edge Creative Artists and they will always have a spot in my heart. Great memories!

look, DEVO to some people may not be one of their favorite bands, but you still have too admit that they had a great run, and through out the years, they sounded better and better. once their first album hit, it was the start of a new era in rock music. DEVO isn't just a band, they're a legendary band

They are and always will be phenomenal. Besides a couple of songs which did well commercially, they never really appealed to the top 40 FM radio listeners. Good me thinks they can have Air Supply and Bay City Rollers, I'll take Devo's Gut Feeling on full tilt !

One of the most brilliant yet misunderstood bands of all time. You really had to be cool AND smart to understand what was going on and appreciate it. Great performance. I really loved that So-Cal surf vibe to Gut Feeling and the increasingly racing tempo. Great stuff.

I got their first album on vinyl in an auction, paid £3.00 back in 1979/80 I think. And I still love it as if today ,,some of their later stuff went too techno pop for me But their early stuff , just fantastic. This is one band I'd love to see live !
