God knows, I love what they've accomplished, the trail they blazed, and how they stuck to their guns throughout. I have nothing but respect for their defiance and their tenacity, but am still left with a wistful sadness that's just foolish nostalgia. We all get old if we don't die, but it's still more powerful when it gets left to memories. They're still vital, but damn, it's hard watching them.

@torch87608 ай бұрын
@@infindebulasame. The pacing is just so slow now and that kinetic energy is vital to a Devo show. I prefer to remember them in their prime instead of as a nostalgia act giving it one more go.

Agreed. I saw a lot of the major bands back in the 60s/70s/80s and consider The Who in their prime -- original lineup -- the best live performers. It's painful to watch them now. And at $100-400 per ticket? SMH. Like watching retirees play sports. They may enjoy it; I don't. Memories, as you say, are better.

As far as I can tell (based on ancient scrolls not to mention futurechippss), DE-VO is the greatest band of ALL TIME (including pre-times). I sure wish I could have been at this show! The RIV is one of the greatest rooms in Chi-Town. I'm actually glad I wasn't there because I likely would have cried (with joy) which as a "man's man" is embarrassing and I could even lose work if it was posted on Linked In. I'm glad front of house mixed Mark's synth properly over the top for Mongoloid, because I'm a half-mongoloid and when it's too low I feel disgusted for my race however this made me proud. Thank you for this historical document! In 2073 I can finally rest knowing that my friends have changed the world for the weirder, which is more than you can say about Lance Armstrong.

My opinion will be unpopular, but I see that I am not alone... The sound is off somehow. I have pretty decent monitors so it isn't that. It's like there's some comb filtering or the microphone wasn't appropriate to the SPL/ dB. It sounds really thin and washed out without any punch. I saw them in 2010 when they played "Are We Not Men" and "Duty Now for the Future" 2 nights in a row. It was punchy AF, it was full sounding and a really fun and exciting performance. I am sad to report, this performance, and/or recording of it just don't match the performance I saw.
