Same thing happened last time. He lost to Levan, said he'd go down to lower weight classes, fought Prudnik for the 115kg belt, then went back to competing against Super Heavyweights. Now he lost to Levan again, said he'd go down in weight again, will fight for the 115kg belt again (defending it this time), and will probably go back to fighting Super Heavyweights again afterwards. It's the same issue as last time - not enough competition for him in the 115kg category. He was 120kg/260 lbs against Levan. A 5kg/10 lbs weight cut is nothing. He'll basically be as strong as he was for the Super Heavyweights.

Another problem is the weight class system in general...Levan and Devon are in the same "Super Heavyweight class" but Levan is still too big...I'm pretty sure he outweighed Devon by like 60lbs in this match lol? @@darthvader7886 For balance i would add that Devon had a VERY good setup round 1, so I think that Levan couldnt top-roll him (he is intelligent, he knows when to use energy and when not), then went to hold him (in an efficient position), analyse the situation and then pushed sideways, opened the arm somewhat and then pressed him. So i would say he stopped him but too a large extend because of the very good setup , which looked like Devon vs Denis (where Denis had low/supinated hand), but of course Levan could overcome the shortcoming. Without the setup it would have look like round 2. On the other hand you dont know what Levan was thinking, maybe he wanted to drain energy from Devon (which worked 110% of his capacity while holding Levan center)

I thought the rematch between Ongarbaev and Todd H seemed rushed, but I think Engin wants that bc he is really hoping that Ongarbaev can win this time. We keep saying Devon wasn’t big enough, strong enough, which is true of course, because Levan is an absolute beast. I do think it may be time to consider reorganizing this open weight category..? Athletes seem to be even bigger now and there are 100+ lbs between competitors. Curious how a match between Devon and Levan would play out if, instead of Devon needing to gain weight to be competitive, Levan needed to come down a ways for the match. The current gap in size and strength is just a bit too big for other factors to play any role.

Imo, Devon knew he wasn't going to win. And the fact he came in under 270 lb is absurd, yo take on a near 400 lb monster who already trashed him once. I think it was a money match for Devon and nothing more. To be nowhere near 300 lb for a match with levan is just plain goofy. I know when I'm 205 lb and in my best form and when I'm around 230 lb and in my best form, there is a huge strength difference in all gym lifts. There is also a reason why there are weight divisions in weight lifting,, boxing, mma and arm wrestling. The first round was just about as phony as it gets. Levan didn't even hit! Just allowed it to go on a few seconds since there would be zero drama with 4 glad pins. Lol

Pradeep Here are my takeaways that I strongly believe! Please make a video being objective if you think it is worth discussing 1-I think Devon is definitely the 2nd strongest arm wrestler in the planet. He actually took levan's hand in round1 and if he didn't mess about he would've had better chances, but he allowed Levan to flop press him which took all his energy 2-Devon needs to completely abandon the kings move. it does work against lightweights but not against superheavy weights who can bench press serious weight. it's counter productive for him 3-Devon needs to stop messing about at this elite level. Just get the job done then showcase later. 4-Levan had the defeat look in his face in round 1. I don't care what anyone says he didn't "try to feel Devon" he actually thought he was in very serious trouble. Only reason he flashpined him the later rounds is because Devon got tired that is just a fact. 5-Devon still has at least 3 years at the very high level in EvW against super heavy weights. Now we all know how this works, Devon next opponent needs to be a sure victory for him so they probably give him a Dadikyan or something, but he has to be back in super to defend his status as number 2 in the world. I hope he never stops training. It would make my day if you reply. I don't agree with all your takes but I really enjoy your content and you make many valid points!

I see it this way. In the Super heavy weight division we still have Ermes rematch. Genadi of course. And we all want to see the Devon Vitali match. I see literally no point in facing David Dadikyan, because he lost to Denis and Devon destroyed him. Devon can easily fluctuate his water weight and be 120 kg on match day at 115 kg class and crush them all with superior strength. The only competitive, entertaining and challenging class is within the super heavyweights in my opinion. Hes still number 2. And others want a piece of him/or a rematch. 💪

Levan is not "genetically superior". He's simply pushed his physical limits with steroids to a level that no one else has done. If Levan has to quit for health reasons Devon might be able to take the throne again. It is a very real possibility for Levan. You don't go that hard for this long without serious risks. Levan at 50lbs lighter is still an absolute animal on the table and likely unbeatable. I don't know why he's staying so large...

He wouldn't have a chance in hell if he didn't lift any weights. That said, the arm wrestling lifts are what matter in arm wrestling, not the powerlifting lifts all that much. Devons in shape. There are tons of people in their 50's and even older that go extremely heavy all the time. That's really insulting to Devon to act like he can't do that at 49 when being one of the top arm wrestlers in the world, of course he can, and he does lift, but I don't think he focuses on the big 3.

Well Devon does lift weights obviously. How many times does he need to say that he doesn't release it to the public. Does he focus on the big 3, probably not. Powerlifting isn't going to help in arm wrestling a whole lot. The arm wrestling specific lifts matter a lot more honestly. He does need to be bigger to compete vs Levan for sure. Of course he can gain weight. You can gain weight at any age. The guy isn't even 50 and people are making all kinds of excuses now that he lost.
