I don't think Devon is going to return to the SHW league, I definitely think he'll be back to competing sooner rather then later, but I think it's entirely appropriate and probably a good thing that he is taking a break, he did a lot to rival Levan, almost a year and a half of near constant focus and training for a single objective is really taxing. To be honest, if he comes back to the scene in a mentor role that wouldn't shock me, even if he does compete it might just to demonstrate certain things. And if he ever has a chance to face Levan again then MAYBE ADD ON A FEW EXTRA POUNDS?!!! Using more rest as a part of his training could help with that too... And I'm sure if he quits smoking and uses edibles instead he could definitely pack on a few pounds! Also, at his age, I would QUIT ALCOHOL ALTOGETHER: WATER RETENTION!!! And if he does manage to put on weight then he should take what Levan said onboard and work on his side pressure.

You'll hear it time and time again in martial arts, once the champ loses their title and their mantle they're often relieved the overwhelming pressure of the world is gone.
