They are both legends and this video is just off the charts. The first I ever saw of Devon was years ago when he was doing some colabs with Jujimufu. It was the way he was teaching, explaining and coaching that got me interested in armwrestling to begin with. It's so cool to see this all these years later and Devon has become even better at distilling down all his addition wisdom. Brian knows HOW to get strong and execute a movement with maximum power better than perhaps anyone Devon's ever trained with. So cool to see them both realize that what Brian needs to learn is "what" he needs to be able to do, and that he will then be able to figure out "how" to get insanely strong at doing that on his own.

I really don't like Devon's teaching style, he spent 2 minutes telling Shaw about his body and leg position and then immediately jumps into in hand position, climbing hands, different techniques -- all while Shaw's full body flow is completely useless. Instead of spending the first like 30 minutes helping Shaw lock in the full body movement, like dragging his elbow back, the shoulder to arm positioning, locking the body and move it down while dragging back -- instead he let Shaw keep doing side pressure from his elbow. EDIT* 24:10 It's ridiculous that the first time it's ever brought up is Shaw ASKING Devon about dragging his elbow back lmao 🤦♂

This is what i love abought brian. When he is learning he pays VERY close atention. Takes in as much as he can and never over plays his knowlage. He is so humble and naturally throws himself 100% into anything he learns. Its genuinely a pleasure knowing this man exsists. Arm wrestling world needs to pay atention to brian if he dives into this he most definitely can DOMINATE given time❤ much love Mr Shaw and thank you for everything youv shown us so far.

Such a cool video. I met John Brzenk once and asked him about what he thought of Devon Larratt. The only the thing he had to say was how smart Devon was, how his mind worked. I can't remember the exact quote he said, but it was something like Devon being the smartest guy in the sport. With Devon as a coach/trainer for Brian, the sky is the limit for him. He's such a naturally gifted, hardworking, smart, competitive, and well conditioned guy that if he really applies himself and listens to what Devon has to say, I really think he might become a new apex of the sport. This is the greatest mind in the sport, molding what has got to be the greatest natural talent in the sport. It's really gonna be something special to see Brian ascend if he really commits to it.
