Worked with Matt in the oil patch. Great guy to work with and just hang out. Learned a lot from him. Back in the day on the oil drilling rigs Matt would have the crew over to practice arm wrestling after work to prepare for his competition. He encouraged me to train for competition arm wrestling. I wish I would have cut out one of my 3 jobs and done as he said.

If you didn't notice, Matt tried to pin himself in the first round and Devon held him up lol Thats why Matt fouled out with the 3 count of elbow fouls, so he didn't have to waste any more energy. 4:06 Normally when you give up a round to save energy for the next round, your opponent doesn't fight you since they want the pin.. Devon wanted to torture Matt and make him work so he didn't even let Matt pin himself. Haha Not saying it wasn't a good match, but the very first round was all Devon and I still think it's one of the most ridiculous things when I see that part hahaha

I'm a huge Devon fan, but Matt should have been up 2 to 1. That was absolutely a pin. Freeze 9:20 and look for the moment when you can see Devon's hand right at the level of the pad (maybe even under it, even at this angle). Since we're seeing this at a slight angle above the table (after all, we see the back pad clearly above the front pad), Devon being "at" the pad would mean his hand was actually under it.
