Genadi had a big elbow foul about an inch or more off the pad when pinning Devon round 4. You can see in from front camera in replay. Also in that round they were fouling Devon for not being square but let genadi carve way in and start early. It was sloppy for sure. At 5:59, that’s just insane starting position.

@@justaguyfromreddit loading is not against the rules. But im cool with letting the guys match each other and get away with things equally. This round 4 was not that. They were literally fouling Devon for not being square but then let genadi start like he did @5:59 is ridiculous. And also calling elbow fouls that didn’t exist (Devon round 1) which impacted the round, and then not calling a large elbow foul by Genadi in round 4 to help pin Devon is just sloppy and impacted the match. (You can see the elbow foul from the front camera angle)

It's such an interesting match because devon knows he can't kingsmove, but then the only move he has left is his hook-press. Genadi knows he can win with the flop against the kingsmove, but if he sets up for that he might end up in a bad position if devon gets the shoulder in first. If he sets up for a toproll or high hook, devon will take his hand in a position where genadi maybe can't transition to the press anymore. So many options

Ray, I think it's pretty clear from the match that Devon decided to go inside with Genadi rather than Genadi forcing the hook. Devon at the time severely lacked outer side pressure, so even though he was able to take Genadi's hand off go, he wasn't strong enough to pin Genadi. As we saw in the round 1 restart, Devon couldn't defend against Genadi's press with his top roll. Devon's press is much better than his outer side pressure, which is why he decided to go in a deep hook with Genadi. Devon definitely had hand control the whole time but it didn't end up mattering.

The other ref staring directly at Devon's elbow with laser focus, not calling anything because he can see Devon's eblow touching the pad. In that event Engin said that fouls shouldn't be called when the puller who is in a foul is in a losing position. It had nothing to do with Genadi. Also, check the starts and how off center towards Devon they are in the match. Weird how much plot armour Devon has during setups.

Elbow fouls are heavily scrutinized when you're on the winning side because it gives you a much bigger advantage than on the loosing side. That's the sole reason Devon got that foul. Engin has made this clear multiple times.

I don't care who wins...don't have a horse in the race. But, in this particular case, Devon got robbed. The match wasn't called fairly. It just wasn't. One example of many is Genadi's second win - his shoulders were grossly turned and in a blatant advantage. Wasn't called. Another is Devon getting called for a foul after Genadi had two much more egregious no-calls. In both cases, Devon was winning the round.

Two athlet was at the pick level I think. Strategy was important. Genadi was solid. Larrat's arm was solid. Nearly %50-50 match. But Larrat learned in this match that Genadi is not empty. Genadi will do it again same things. Larrat should be doing hook and toproll so fast. If he don't take any action, He will hear OPPANAAA.

As someone who doesn't armwrestle but loves watching it your comments about the shoulders not being square is really interesting. this was a beautiful match. not only did Genadi not give a damn about Devons antics and just stay in there, he also gassed out Devon inside. he never got full recognition for this win either because organizers wanted Devon vs Levan and didn't want to tarnish that match. look into Devons face after the first inside battle (round 1 second attempt?)...he was in trouble. also, when he couldnt roll out later and couldn't take Genaids hand...yea that was a reality check. sadly, i don't think Genadi is this version right now. i really hope i'm wrong. hats off to the guy taking this match in his home country...we know Devon will be obnoxious. still, this is a match for the history.

Personally feel like the squared shoulders is a silly rule. I would rather have the front/lead shoulder not allowed past a certain point. Something like lead shoulder can't be closer then center of elbow pad. At 5:58 you can see Genadi's shoulder is past the front of the elbow pad and Devon's is much closer to center of the elbow pad. In Rino's most recent match iirc, their lead shoulders were both extremely close to center of the table. I think the arm wrestler should have to work to get the shoulder committed and not just start with the shoulder committed just because he can square his shoulders well.

As engin t said devon did not used kings as genadi pushed him off elbow pad. this should not be ok to push opponent off elbow pad. genadi did not have squared shoulders in many rounds refs almost always favored genadi and were strict on devon and made many untrue calls on devon. bias refs.
@MarcoGT5
@MarcoGT5 6 сағат бұрын
For first round they even said in the rules the pad is bigger so any small foul off back will be called but little hops like Genadi did are allowed, Hristo was just enforcing the rules. Second round Genadi hand was touching Devons shoulder which is not allowed but they let Devon have it. Genadi shoulder was in alot in 3rd round for sure. Round 5 Devon shoulder was in alot like Genadi did then elbow came completely off so obviously restart. Shoulder was in alot again for Devon but he lost. Advantages go both ways but some only want to see it one way

I don't why people still complaining or judging Genadi. You should see the rules meeting of that they. Even Ray seems to don't understand what they said in that rules meeting (youtube). They said that elbow fouls like Genadi did (lift your elbow from the pad, put it down inmediately and do not gain any position) were on the rules of that day. This is the same like kings move, if you do that move without going against rules why should be called a foul, only a desesperation move it's called foul (desesperation move for me, it's humerus below the table). That day, they did not rob anyone. The problem was the rules that everyone in that room agreed to follow and they forget it when the match end up.

did you not see round 5 when genadi completely drained devon until he had nothing??? how does an elbow foul, that happens in almost every single arm wrestling match, IN ROUND 1 no less, completely invalidate genadi's victory... especially when you see genadi's round 5 performance... fanboy bias is a sign of low intelligence btw

dev got robbed, it's fine though, easy win coming... no messing around this time. BTW i dont blame genadi for winning, its the refs we should be mad with. but when a match is so close, any tiny advantage can tip the scales. although of course it wasn't a tiny advantage was it, it was a big one. oh well! sometimes im like "stop fucking around, finish it!" but at the same time the performance of watching dev beat people with different styles is very entertaining lol. some refs dont like this. i guess we cant blame them, their job is calling fouls and not 'reading the room' so to speak. and dev knows, the longer he draws someone out / bleeds them, the higher the chance of a foul being called. but its also one of his strategies to win the long game. double edged sword.

the thing i always admire is how composed he stays in 'defeat' whether stolen or legit, he's always respectful it seems. as if he has a switch that flicks on and accepts any outcome. maybe not respectful leading up to matches, lol, but that's all just good marketing and business.

That was a press not side pressure lol so no the press is supposedly so manly 😂. Ok .. your losing your hand completely and have to imply orthodox strengths The press isnt so fun to watch like people imply not exactly its ok. The press is shoulder and tricep doesnt seem so much like arm wrestling power likd they try to imply. Side pressure lol couldn't handle side pressure? Thats the press Coach Ray. You mean the shoulder and the tricep lol

imagine watching an entire game, and because your idol lost, you go all the way back to a 1st round foul to justify a loss .... especially when round 5 was such a clear domination from genadi. completely drained devon until he had nothing.

@@humanbean3 You misread my comment. Not only Devon is not my idol, I despise this manchild. He is the opposite of what I consider to be a real man. But we must admit the obvious, there wouldn't have been round 5 if he wasn't robbed of round 1
@humanbean3
@humanbean3 6 сағат бұрын
@@Alexsandr-l8k this is flawed logic. you cannot change round 1, and expect everything else to play out the exact same... arm wrestling is very round specific. athletes will often times lay down a round strategically to give more effort in the next. so you can't just say some foul in round freaking one of all things, invalidates a victory. especially with genadi's performance in round 5. no matter what, when genadi is down 2 rounds, he's going to go all out like he did in round 5. so you can't claim a round 1 foul and completely rob him of that chance to go all out. does that make sense to you?

@@humanbean3 Sounds like you watched Loki too many times :) Is it possible that after losing the 1st round, Genadi could have won 3 rounds in a row in some alternate reality? Sure. But even more likely, Devon would have just drained Genadi right there in the 1st round. It just doesn't look like Genadi was going to pin himself to save strenght. It also doesn't look like Devon had enough strength to pin Genadi or that Genadi could have gotten out of the terrible position he was in Having said that, I will of course support Genadi in the rematch (even though he will most likely lose), as well as Todd, Vitaly, Ermes, and any other opponents Devon faces. I hope they will teach him lessons of humility If you are strong and you know it, you don't need to use trash talk and mind games to win matches

@@Alexsandr-l8k Never heard of this Loki. did marvel give Loki from Thor his own movie? or show? anyways... why would Genadi need to win 3 rounds in a row if he loses round 1? Do you not understand if you change round 1 the entire match plays out differently? Also, who's to say if Genadi decided to go all out in round 1, he couldn't pull through and do what he did in round 5? Not to mention the foul in the first place was legitimate.. It might've been a bad call but the foul did occur. Going off the back or front of the pad gets called immediately and it's even stated in the rule meeting. You could go through so many matches and find "questionable" calls in the early rounds... it doesn't invalidate the entire match

just to point some things, round one, even if you say that devon had his elbow off the pad, which I don't think he did, genadi lifted his elbow first so he should be called first, another point 2:40 genadi started way earlier than the go by the referee xD another thing, 5:50, don't look at the shoulder, look at where genadi's elbow is on the pad, dude is starting the match with his elbow on the limit of the pad of COURSE his press will be better positioned and stronger, it's a whole new universe if his elbow was centered where he should be, he would need to get hand control and regrip to get a better leverage than go with a press that would not happen because we can clearly see that devon has the better hand n wrist.
