So typical of her not wanting to go down the stairs once she felt it was "your Idea" to go down them!!! Corgi's love to do things on their own terms, they have that your not the boss of me mentality for sure! Great video! Just love this breed of dog! Cute, loud, feisty, smart, stubborn, short, and almost always food driven like me!!! That's why I tell people my Corgi Shiloh is my spirit animal! :-)

I had a Corgi/German Shepherd mix and she was a real sweetheart. She looked like a Shepherd but the legs gave her away. She had the most beautiful bushy tail. What I loved most about her though was her personality. I have had two purebred Corgis and the sweetness is very obviously a part of their DNA.

Very big reminder that Pembroke Corgi's also have tails. They were removed because of working in the fields and farms, but most of them don't actually do that work anymore so removing them is cosmetic and abusive. Yes you can find Pem Corgi's that have been selectively bred to to not have a tail but then they don't survive super long and have a litany of health issues. The reason it is illegal most places is because if you Corgi is doing no farm work then there is literally no reason to remove the tail.

The sooner you start the easier it is to get them adjusted to it. I didn't start Willo at at 8 weeks but if I got another puppy I would start desensitizing them to the dremmel at 8 weeks! just do things like give them treats for touching the dremmel and for being calm around it when its off and on!

@devonandwillo3 жыл бұрын
Ooooh this is a great video topic idea but I'll give you a few things I can think of off the top of my head! Definitely things like teaching them to wait (before eating) teaching them leave it, place (or go to your bed), sit, heel (walking next to you on a leash) and setting overall boundaries for them! An example of boundaries would be not letting them past a certain point in your house before you open the front door, not walking through doorways before you, etc

Hate to break it to you, but both corgi breeds are born with tails (except a few that's being born with a short tail, but it's unusual) and the puppies gets their tails docked when they're 2-5 days old. This is illegal in a lot of countries and I think that we should all spread the awareness about the fact that they actually have a tail, so that people can be aware of how their puppies gets treated at the breeder.

Nipping is just something they do as puppies and for the most part you have to wait until they grow out of it, but freezing toys like kongs and other rubbery toys is a good way to keep them busy. Also a whole frozen carrot with keep them busy for a while and give them something to bite on!
