Hello Saiyam bhai, I'm Faisal Javid, a 2nd-year BTech student with a keen interest in learning DevOps. I've chosen Cloud Computing as my minor. Recently, our college has placed a strong emphasis on preparing for placement drives. Upon reflection, I realize I haven't explored technical aspects deeply enough. With approximately 8 months before actual placements commence, I'm determined to maximize this time. While I have some experience with Open Source contributions, I've yet to undertake a deep dive into it. I'd greatly appreciate your suggestions on where I should focus my efforts. Additionally, if you have any further recommendations, especially considering my eagerness towards remote jobs, please do mention them.

Bhaiya please make a video on os contributions in devops fields like afaik devops is more about deployment, making ci/cd, regulations and all then what are students who are participating in programs like gsoc , lfx , outreachy for cncf projects doing? Like they are making sub features of a particular cncf project like as i have seen students are mostly doing code contributions (mostly in golang) in these projects... Am in my 1st year now started coding in January this year and explored different fields like i have tried frontend, backend, flutter , learnt linux and bash scripting ,Little bit of dsa and now i want to try devops field through code contributions in oss projects, will start learning about this field after my exams but i am little bit confused like how things are going on and what people are actually doing.... Would love to see a video on this topic maybe on this channel or your eng channel , thank you!

The thing is as mentioned in the video alos, if you want to move to cloud native side of things then your job role can be interesting like Kubernetes engineer - golang developer, SRE with Golang. With Golang you will have immense opportunities to contribute in cloud native projects, participate in GSOC etc.

@@kshindi yes i got this but the issue i am facing rn is how to get started with code contributions in devops field like on this topic i found very limited resources, if i search for web dev roadmap or guidences i can found bunch of good resource but whenever i search for code contri in cncf or devops field the resources revolves mostly around deployment, i have even talked to few students about it but they too didn't have much idea about this as they have mostly done projects performing all the devops practices... So a vid would be very helpful on what they are doing, how they are doing, how things are working and how to get started with code contributions in these projects... Or any other resources you would like to refer me...

@@yashraj.10 code contributions have nothing to do with devops. So you can just lean programming language an start contributing that should be sufficient. Why mix code contribution with devops?

@@kshindi i asked that because cncf prj are connected to devops and cloud field and ig if i have to conti to cncf i should have good knowledge of devops as well & the thing is if i start learning go lang i will learn its syntax but we do not need just the syntax to contribute in cncf prj so what exactly what i need to learn after learning go lang to contribute to cncf projects...

@@yashraj.10 you have to go to a project, get involved and see the good first issues to work on, even before that you should compile and run the project understand the working and then move forward. CNCF project have nothing to do with DevOps apart form setting up some pipelines for the projects and some automation about the project

Web DEvelopment and backed are two separate things, as mentioned in the video , Web development is not needed, mostly you need scripting language only as you need to do all automations or maybe even write a tool.
