I hope that you like this weeks episode where I in the name of friendship craft something I have never crafted before - miniature giant doors!? It was a challenge but with the support from you lovely people I knew I would get through this! Stay safe good folks! Lots of love! 🤘💙💛💙🤘

Leif labeled the title incorrectly. Shouldve been "Skilled artisan creates masterwork metal reinforced door complete with realistic forge marks from clay". Well done.

When I saw the video title about doors, I instantly regretted not buying the package of coffee stir sticks from the dollar store yesterday. But, when you broke out the clay, I was surprised. I have seen those rollers, but not in action. They work really well, and I’m SO GLAD that the company didn’t mistakingly label them “Mayan Doors” since far too many people mix up the Aztec Sun Stone with the Mayan Calendar. Far too many... Awesome job on the doors. The many details you carved into each piece of clay, from the knots to the hammered metal hinges, really made them pop. And as always, the paint job was excellent. I will definitely get into moulding clay for my shelf diorama, whenever I get to that. Be safe and well, Leif.
@DevsDice4 жыл бұрын
Thank you kindly Ronald! Regarding coffee stir sticks, it really is a good thing to have lying around. I bought one pack of 1000 about 2 1/2 years ago and still using it here and there! I do really recommend super sculpey much more than the original sculpey I used for the scatter terrain! :) Thanks again for the comment and stay safe you hear?

I never thought about using miniature doors, but They look great, and I might try making some for a tabletop campaign.
@DevsDice4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah I have made smaller doors before but not from clay! Huh, might have to write that one up as a potential video! :)
@PrGratesnif3 жыл бұрын
Hey Leif, nice video! To prevent the different level of indent from those rollers, I use stir sticks that I stack at the appropriate height to have the thickness needed on both sides of my clay. The roller then rests on the stir sticks so I can use as much pressure as I want

You really have me considering using some sculpy for scatter terrain. Didn't look near as hard as I figured it would. Way to open up the doors to a new Leif of crafting!
@DevsDice4 жыл бұрын
Haha! Thanks man! Yeah I am super liking the sculpey! It has a nice weight to it and I feel like it complements wood and xps foam in a nice way! I just wished I was a better sculptor but hey, one has to start somewhere right? :D Thanks for the comment! :)
