Terry Crawford at DevTech Audio's take on the legendary '73 Rams Head Big Muff owned and used by David Gilmour. This one has a three-way toggle to help you hone your midrange preferences. It's full of fuzz, distortion, muffdom and good fun. Built in Sydney, Australia and available now.
"If you're chasing David Gilmour’s tone, then this pedal is perfect. The Gilmour Muff is a recreation of Gilmour’s main and favourite ‘73 Rams Head EHX Big Muff circuit.
It features the same component values as Gilmour’s favourite original Rams Head pedal, recreating the sound that shaped much of Pink Floyd’s guitar sounds.
A mid switch has been added for control over the scooped mids that Big Muff's are famous (infamous?) for. There are 3 mids EQ settings, scooped like the original, flat, or boosted. This helps cut through any mix, or band in a live setting.
Vintage Fairchild BC239C transistors.
Enclosure is a 125B powder coated in white and UV printed for durability.
Only quality components used, including Switchcraft, Wima, Vishay, NOS Fairchild transistors, NOS Panasonic capacitors.
Features internal LED brightness trim, and a black footswitch, just like Gilmour’s original pedal (Pete Cornish modified Gilmour’s with the black footswitch).
Requires 9v battery, or standard external power for guitar effects pedals.
Please note: Build of this pedal can be customised for no additional charge, to have black davies knobs, and/or a silver footswitch if preferred. LED colour can also be customised to red/blue/UV(purple)/or orange. After placing the order, make contact using the Contact page on the website, or send an email to devtechaus@gmail.com requesting the changes."
Many thanks to Tom at @elevatedjamtracks for the cool backing track.

Devtech does it again! I own, use, and love his Custom Muff (based on Cornish G-2, I believe) and his 18v Power Driver...or maybe it's called the Colour Driver, can't recall off the top of my head... anyhoo that one is an awesome Coloursound Power Booster type, and alone or stacked together they absolutely slay. Been eyeing the Gilmour Muff for a while. It sounds as good as or better than similarly priced Muffs of that design (Vick Audio '73 Ram's/Violet Ram's Head, Keeley Moon) and it's Aussie-made. What's not to like? Great demo Burgs

18v give ya more headroom mate, or add more to the core tone? Sounds interesting, Cornell made some nice gear. Terry & co are spot on with this Muff tho!

@@mattgilbert7347 Thanks mate, thought so, 18v in a booster or drive is plenty for a boost or drive.. lve still got a 08 Balckstar dual that draws 16v, the clean channel just gives you more plus a bit of warmth. Devtech have done well with this Muff tho... now l just need a bigger pedal board!

@@baabaabaa-yp2jh no worries! I have a 22v valve driven Blackstar thing, my god it rips! Apparently it sounds basically identical to the 16v version. I think one is AC but not sure. Maybe we have the same dual!?

Great Demo! You've used other pedals to affect the "Gilmourish" (see what I did there?) lead tones we all know and lust over. Solo album. That's all I know today. Keep on keeping on. Cheers 🍻

Thanks! I can't remember, I'm sorry. That was a great pedal but like many others it didn't stay around for long - bills to pay. The thing with Muffs is; I have a sound in my head that I want to coax from them so that's where I head. Most can do it, but some better than others. Rock on and thank you for watching.

They have “Big Muff” copyrighted. Just “muff” is food to go. You can’t really copyright an already existing word.
