I just bought mine. It’s very useful in pruning both up on an orchard ladder and for quickly cutting off branches on the ground. It’s much more accurate than my pole chain saw in tight spaces but I prefer the safety of the pole saw by being away from falling branches. The tip helps protect other branches or from hitting the ground when cutting things up on the ground. The weight is good.

Thanks for the video. I’ve got the bare tool, and the oil reservoir intrigued me a bit. I ran the saw in my backyard for a minute with the empty oil reservoir.then I thought it was odd to see an oil lubrication reservoir that was empty, the good thing was that I stopped using it, until made some research about it, until I came on to this video. I’ll get the DEWALT branded oil lubricant tomorrow and fill up the reservoir. Awesome. 👏

You can easily add a new replacement 8in or 10in inch bar if you want without the tip guard. But it really isnt necessary, the tip guard is actually quite convenient a pruning application.

100% yes. I bought this saw with the plan to remove the tip guard. I changed my mind almost immediately. It improves the tool’s safety drastically, and it actually makes the saw easier and more effective on up-cuts.

The reason for the tip is so it protects other branches getting cut by accident because this is pruning saw

It can use any Dewalt 20v battery except the DCB615 which is the huge 15ah flexvolt. All the other flexvolt batteries will fit.

Hi, do you think it is possible to take off the protector at the end of the saw? I would like to use the saw for carving…

Get the 12 inch chainsaw, no guard...

There are tamper proof (one-way)security screws that were used to attach the protector at the end of the saw. We would not recommend taking the protector off

I'd prob pick this up if they made that easily removable wich imo they should have. Basically have it optional but recommended by them or something. I did recently pick up a 20v dewalt angle grinder though 🤔👍

You can purchase a 20V battery/charger Starter Kit on our site we have a few available the most popular is DCBP034C . Buying a starter kit is cheaper than buying the battery and charger individually.
