I've had the speed selector stick on a 2 speed drill, too. It happened to me with the Flex. Once I squeezed the trigger, I was able to move the selector.

I got the dcd 998 for 2 years now it is a beast of a drill and my favorite so far but I am interested in the dcd1007 gonna review all the tests on it would love to see it go head to head with the 998 and 999 then I can make a solid decision 👍

The speed selecter getting stuck is normal on three speed dewalt drills i have a nearly 10 year old dcd995 (yes 995 not a 996 everyone seems to forget the 995 exists) and its always done that.

Lowering the speed to 2000rpm from 2250rpm on hammer mode, is a big turn off for me. I'll stick with my 996 for now.

@man0grc, the 1007 has superior torque compared to the 996 or 999. It also has anti-kickback, which is a first for Dewalt. I've also heard that the 1007 has a phenomenal clutch, which is crucial if you're using it as a driver.

@kalebross im in the market for a new impact driver and hammer drill combo. Im on both milwaukee and dewalt platforms. If you had to buy a set today would you go dewalt 860 & 1007 or milwaukee gen4 combo? Thank u in advance for your opinion

@@247Combat the dewalts are great but you can get the gen 4 combo cheaper and get all the work you need done usually without any issues. I use the gen 4 combo everyday at work and they’ve been holding up. If you really want the new dewalt power though, the choice is Dewalt.

@@Kaleb_RoSs also does the 8ah milwaukee tabless battery gives the same boost to the 2904 as the 8ah tabless battery does for the 1007. Ive noticed on torque test ive seen the 1007 ranges between 46 torque to 47 torque on the poich cells but gets ip to low 50's using the 8am powerpack tabless so wondering if it would do the same for the milwaukee using the comparable battery

@@247Combat the tabless battery gave it a really good boost for the Milwaukee in my testing but I didn’t try the 6ah forge with pouches. Compared to their high output batteries it’s a good boost
