That’s a really nice saw. I have that same one as well as the 577, 570 and the M18 2732 and the 578 is by far my favorite. I also have the 565 and the little 571 as well as the 12v 512 but 90% of the time I find myself reaching for the 578. Good choice of equipment! I can tell you’re a little inexperienced and that’s fine. Just be safe and enjoy. You probably don’t even realize how much nicer that saw is than 95% of the circular saws on the market. Those cuts where the saw was binding but still cuts would have shut down most every other saw out there. Be careful of the binding. I saw you were starting to realize this by the end and took some pressure off the cut ends of those planks before cutting them and it paid off with nice smooth cuts. I’d probably keep a beater blade for the kind of thing you’re doing in this video. A 24T is a good multipurpose blade for this and then maybe get yourself a nice 40T blade for any clean cuts you wish to make in the shop. Just be safe, wear your eye pro and watch out for the binding of the blade and you will be fine. Then more you cut the better and more experienced you will be. We were all there at one point. One last time, good choice of saw my friend!
