Apart from the “flex volt” what a massive “flex” this video is. Dude just ate up two grand worth of lumber. Awesome video!

Wow! No cord. Circular saws have come a long way since I bought my corded Makita roughly 15 years ago. You have a special way with the camera. This was fun to watch. Dewalt owes you money as far as I'm concerned.

Awesome comparison! Thank you! The local big box store is selling the sidewinder for $379 with 3 batteries right now so I gotta go with that. The worm drive looks epic but to be honest, it's just the power hungry side of me that wants it! I don't need that much juice, just trying to get away from my milwaukee 6-1/2" saw which I seem to bog a lot.

Joe Montague what's the difference? There both the same saw. Aren't they?
@nsatoday5 жыл бұрын
No they are not. The blade right 575 is less powerful. The blade left 577 is designed to perform with worm gear saws. Traditionally, you would use a worm gear saw to do rip cuts in sheet goods and compound bevels on rafters etc. sidewinder saws are used for cross cuts and is lighter. A handy saw for sure; however, worm gear saws power is great for gang cutting material etc. time is money and power makes cuts faster. The 577 is heavy though. I have both and they both have their strengths.
@Angel-xh5pq6 жыл бұрын
Lumber was clamped down really good behind the box with several clamps, and had over 100lbs of weight on top of it, as you can see there was no movement of the lumber during the cuts. Thanks for watching. Hope my video helps

Left blade worm drive all the way (I like to see where I'm cutting). I just bought and used mine last week. A huge upgrade from my old 18V DC390 6 1/2". Before I even started it I replaced the blade with a 40 tooth.I also picked up the Dewalt DWS5100 12-Inch Dual-Port Folding Rip Guide. I had to rip some 3/4" plywood and this was much better than lifting it onto my table saw.

I have both dcs578 and the rear handle both monsters. For framing floors until roof I use the rear handle. When we are on the roof cutting rafters I use a mixture of both the rear handle to cut tails off and the other mainly to cut the rafters because it’s lightweight/compact.

I have both of these saws and I use the worm drive for rough framing and I use the other for trim or going on the roof since it's lighter. I never leave home without them.
@tomaspilcer10144 жыл бұрын
If you have to choose between these 2 saws, which one would it be? I would like to buy one, but I cant decide which one. I like 575 for its lower weight. But I also like 577 because I am right-handed and the blade is on the left side. But the weight could be an issue sometimes. And no, I cant buy both :D

Hey man! That was good! But, since both saws are known to be almost equally powerful, it would be so much better to do this kind of comparisons with regular cordless circular saws, so the difference would be really noticed. For example a 18v Bosch brushed circular saw, a 20v brushless, and so. I hope you do thi! Please! Thanks!

Man, the POWER on the new one is over the top. Love that my DCS575 doesn't spit all that wood chew in my lap tho... Question at the 3:30 mark when it locked up - did you push it into lockup or let go of the trigger? Or did it just get ground to a halt? The white cat bugging out at the top was epic btw!
@Angel-xh5pq6 жыл бұрын
josh smith The white cat bugging out was a Milwaukee owner scared of these powerful saws lol, jk I have a few Milwaukee tools myself and they been good. What happened at 3:30 was my fault, I got sideways towards the end causing the saw to cutoff. Overall the 575 did really good. Thanks for watching

I think they said the new one has 30% more power. I love everything but the blades, change those out and it's great.
@Angel-xh5pq6 жыл бұрын
Jake A. Yes around 30%, The first thing I did was swap the blades to the Dewalt precision framing ones (ones on video), I'm not a big fan of the flexvolt blades there're too thin and tend to get caught up easily, thanks for watching
@beefuzzy3106 жыл бұрын
I run Diablo on all my saws. Also, the Diablo blades don't have as much of the annoying blade ring. The DeWalt and Makita blades just keep stacking up, I save them for junk work.

Do you know if these saws gain a power increase from the 9.0 batteries when compared to the 6.0s? Or is the power pretty much the same on both, just with more run time on the 9.0? Cheers
@Angel-xh5pq5 жыл бұрын
Pretty much the same, except more run time on the 9.0s, I did notice a power increase going from the 5.0s to 6.0s on some 20v tools, probably has to do with 10 cells 5.0 vs 15 cells on the flexvolt 6.0
@loucifer3235 жыл бұрын
You get more power with the 9amp and mire runtime and if you a 12amp with either over the 6amp you definitely notice the difference and its the same size as the 9amp

@panchitoefe6746 жыл бұрын
Yeah this is really good the only issue I found is that the battery don't last too much you have to have a couple more to not run out of battery I think the Makita runs a little more time with it's batteries but this one has more power that's why it drains it's the batteries faster I guess
@SpYucaipaSoCal5 жыл бұрын
The makita is basically the same money as the Dewalt but Makita has a per motion at Home D right now that you buy the kit and get a second pair of 5.0 batteries for free. And i have used the hell out of the Makita and love it. I help my brother who’s a general contractor build stuff often. I don’t even get my skill 77 from my truck anymore. The makita adjustments for angles and depth fast n easy too. But i have a ton of Dewalt 20v tools and want that 60v saw badly. Wish Dewalt would step up with a freebie battery even a 6.0 battery would be ok with me.
