Great work and a reminder that the drills in this class (high amp, very low revs) are still powerhouses. They develop so much torque that they can actually be dangerous if used without some care. They’re sometimes called widowmakers because if a spade bit or hole saw binds up the drill will counter-rotate and can throw someone off a ladder or roof. I broke some bones in my right hand years ago using one of these drills with a large hole saw. I was working on the soffits on a two-story house at the top of a ladder and consider myself pretty lucky that it wasn’t injured more seriously.

They are indeed powerful. Mine has twisted my arms a few times.

Nice thorough video. I'm working on changing the chuck on mine. The center retainer screw came out fairly easy. I just needed to know that it was a torque instead of a hex head and the size and which way it screwed which I got from you. I have a more modern chuck on mine something like the newer one you showed that requires a key chuck but it's malfunctioning, won't retain its grip. I haven't been able to unscrew it yet. I put a penetrant in the opening of the chuck with the screw removed hoping it will go down into the chuck threads. Any suggestions to remove a stubborn chuck from this drill?

Mr Maximus, Are replacement parts still available for this model?
