I bought the DWS779 for a great price, caught a really good deal at Lowe’s for $399. Then bought all the parts to add the cut line system from MMtool parts. They are replacement parts for the DWS780 - from DeWalt. I don’t really care for the couple other things the 780 has like the stops for 22.5 and 33 or whatever they are and the slide stop latch.

Steve, I've found that for some Tool Features, I'm like how did I live without that, but on many other Tools, I only use a small faction of the Features. My 780 Saw is great, I use it all of the time, it seems. I hope the 779 does well for you for many years! - Stiles

My 12" Flex Tool saw has this feature and many more. But... it's also 599.99 for the bare tool, no batteries included. Flex does sell an AC to DC conversion though. The batteries perform perfectly so I haven't felt the need. Dewalts saw is perfectly fine, it's an industry standard for a reason. I'm just well invested in the Flex brand now. Gotta say their cordless tools are top notch, the lifetime warranty is awesome too.

It’s a great work site miter saw, however it requires over a 3ft clearance which is not compatible with a garage or work shed work bench which usually has at most a 28-30 inch depth.

Matthew, I admit my experience with DeWalt is limited; my first Cordless Drill was a DeWalt which worked well. My Angle Grinder is a 30 year old DeWalt that still works great. It has Thousands and Thousands of hours on it, it has an unsafe Cord which I'm crazy for not replacing, but the Grinder works great.
