I've had this saw for almost a year now. Put it through heavy use. 1. Mine came with the 6ah battery. That thing has a very short lifespan. 9ahs are a noticeable improvement, and can usually be found used on ebay for 140 or less. I have two extras, and am always rotating them out while working. 2.Keep an eye on the oiler. The tube came out of the shells oiler hole, and was just lubing the inside of the chainsaw, for mine. 3. Don't force the cut. This will discharge he battery faster, and cause the chainsaw to overheat if it, or the battery overheats, it auto shuts off to save itself, or the battery. 4.Replacement bars are cheaper from dewalts tool servicing site ($20) vs retail stores (>$40). 5.Chains are pretty random pricewise, but rural king has trilink .043 gauge 56 link chains for $13. As far as I care, quality does not matter, as the chain will need to be sharpened eventually. 6. Perhaps a design flaw? The side plate the chain is next to, chips get under there through the sprocket. They can and will get into the chain brake, and when that happens, the saw will begin to "jam" or automatically begin tripping the brake. 6 screws on the plate, and you can take it off to blow it out. Good luck with it! Have fun!

Great saw, use it for all of our wood. We only burn with wood, sold the Stihl.

how fast do they cut? my little husqvarna 435, handfiled with their round file, spits out chips at an amazing rate.

honestly its not that fast compared to gas. I should of included a video of me actual operating it. sorry.

You were probably using a 9ah since that is what the saw comes with and they are jus much easier to get then a 12ah for a reasonable price. You could get a little more time out of a 12ah battery that is the same exact physical size. About 6 1/2 minutes longer in theory so nothing drastic. Then of course the new 15ah they jus came out with would get you longer but also a bigger physical battery. Edit: then of course this year dewalt is coming out with an 18" and 20" chainsaw
