Guilty of Treeson has the limb reaper. But August and Damien are also both great climbers. I watch all 3 of y'all plus Bucking Billy Ray.

nice video! i feel like both dewalt and stihl prioritice cutting speed in big diameter wood over a light weight saw that has great handling. it works if you use the saw on the ground and in the bucket maybe. but while climbing i will always chose the husqvarna. chain speed, great handling, feeling little of the weight is just more important than cutting big wood for an electric saw. ill rather switch to the 500i 2 cuts earlier than struggle for 100 limb cuts prior to it.

I think batteries must be placed on harness and cable integrated in to lanyard so the saw could be very compact and lightweight!

After using the DeWalt for about 6 months one thing I've noticed is it seems to be susceptible to throwing chains easily. Over the years I've gotten into the habit of giving a limb a little flick with the bar as soon as the cut is finished to keep the butt end away from the trunk. It's become somewhat of an unconscious habit for better or worse. When doing this with the DeWalt I've had it throw the chain multiple times. Something I've never had happen with another top handle.
@VeteranTreeService2 ай бұрын
I think it's because the DeWalt bar is a little too flexible. That's my experience with it.

Only battery saw I like is Echo 2500 ,all others is too heavy and very bulky, and I really not understand those 35to 40 cm bars on climbing saw 😅 never feel needed more than 30 cm after I use proper rear handed! I still thinkEcho 2511 is best climber saw ever produced ,and I’m not the fan of other echo products!

Technically wouldn't using that motorized ascender on your climb line be a risk if the motor somehow melted or burned up the rope? I don't know anything about this by the way - I just speak as a person who has burned up those ropes they use for winch cables. I remember how it melted through the rope when it got stuck, and it happened really fast. Faster than I could react to.

The 60v and the Husqvarna mk2 gas saw weigh within half a lb of each other fully gassed full bettery. I weighed them. Kinda impressed. The bar is made by Oregon, it's essentially a speed cut nano bar, it accepts speed cut nano .043 guage chains. You must be running that chain really loose or something. I've never had the chain on mine pop off so easily and frequently like that. Does happen though, just not to me with that saw as often as the video makes it seem that it would. Yep.

Was coming here to ask this too… each limb at the start was rigged anyway, so doing the “peel & pinch top cut only” wasn’t needed for control.

Those On/Off switches are a pain in the ass. I run the Milwaukee top handle and I love that saw. Plenty of power, weight isn’t bad for me anyways. No On/Off switch. Plus I have tons of Milwaukee tools so I have lots of batteries from the big 12ah, 9ah and several 6ah. I like the 9ah for what little climbing I do now that I am old and retired. The 12ah is great for ground work.
