You're going to want to put the work support and stop pieces out on the extension arms, that's kind of the point, but I'm sure y'all figured that one out.

Thank you for this video. Your instructions fill in a lot of gaps that the instructions didn't have for assembly. It isn't Dewalt's fault, it is stuff that you can't well.

Really appreciate this. I was starting to scratch my head if I was mounting it correctly. The manual left much to be desired. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. The fact that it has double holes on each corner is what confused me. The manual left much to be desired.

The manual has the older previous model numbers for mounting. I also am looking for confirmation about mounting the 779

I added one of the work support and stop pieces on the extension arms so I have long on one side short on the other...but was disappointed that the point of contact with the bolt/flat piece that holds the work support to the extension arms mounts against plastic instead of metal.

Would it be easier to install the backets on the bottom of the saw before attaching to the stand?
@AJSWoodworks Жыл бұрын
Either way would work fine, but the brackets would not be lined up with the tracks that way.

Thanks for the video. I bought one and I wasn't sure if I was luttong it together coreectlty. The instructions are a joke, hahah. Normally, dewalt has a bug manual with a lot of info. Not in this case. Mine only came with the button screws that fit like a nut inside the holes on the saw

Thanks for the instructions, however, the support/stop brackets should be mounted at the end of the extension arms and not on the end of the main rail so as support/stop longer boards.
@AJSWoodworks Жыл бұрын
They are currently on the ends of the main rail on mine. However, I don’t do a lot of long boards anyway.

I agree with the others, the instructions suck! As for the stand itself, mine doesn't wobble at all, it is very sturdy. My problem was, the hardware bage was open and empty. It was all in the box, sliding around. There was one washer missing. Also, the bolt that holds one of the black end caps on was not installed right and stripped the threads. Great video!
@jamesbarrett84902 жыл бұрын
With all respect, the carriage bolt holding the saw goes in from the bottom and fits into the slot which holds the carriage bolt, that’s why a carriage bolt is supplied.
@JustinMentionedIt2 жыл бұрын
I just noticed my bolt bag came with 5 bolts, 4 was the long all same size with washer and lock washer but the 5th was a short bolt no lock washer and no washer
@AJSWoodworks2 жыл бұрын
I talk about that in the video. You have the option of using the short bolt or a long bolt depending on orientation.
@JustinMentionedIt2 жыл бұрын
@@AJSWoodworks yeah I seen where you talked about it but you made it sound like it comes with the option to use short bolts or long bolts as in yours came with 4 long ones and 4 short ones
@deadliftD10 ай бұрын
@@JustinMentionedIt The instructions say to reference the hardware selection chart. But that chart doesn't make sense because only one short bolt is provided yet for several saws it says to use it on one of the sides, which require two. I have the 780/782 and it says to use short bolts on the right side. Well, there's only one and there doesn't seem to be a reason why a short bolt is needed anyway. I used the four long bolts.

Short screw is for DW717 saw, left side. See page 3 of instructions….head on bottom.

Do you always leave the mounting brackets on the saw - even when you're not using the stand?
@AJSWoodworks2 жыл бұрын
I do, but I don’t use the saw without it being on the stand.
@chrisbanks31752 жыл бұрын
Why not just mount the mounting brackets to the saw first? And you mentioned putting the mounting bolt with the head up or down. Should always be down as to not interfere with the saw sliding back and forth.
@AJSWoodworks2 жыл бұрын
As far as whether to mount the mounting brackets to the saw first, it can actually be easier to mount it once the brackets are already on the stand because they are lined up perfectly and you have some thing a little higher up to work with. I mentioned having the mounting bolts head up her head down, as this is an option depending on what bolt you use.
@PerfectSnowball2 жыл бұрын
The instructions specifically say the heads should be facing up - you just use the shorter bolts IF they impede your saw's swivel function.
@deadliftD10 ай бұрын
