You ever used it? I’m guessing the width of the legs isn’t the weak point. I’ve stood on top of my Dewalt (I bought my Dewalt 4-5 years ago, when they were THE first and only one). I’ve stood on my Dewalt and don’t work on it like it was a platform, probably around 300lbs on it and it was stable AF, never felt like it was going to collapse or fail. Cool, so there are some pics out there of a couple with bent legs, there are probably 10x as many dewalts in use than toughbuilt, or in other words, 10x the chance of one being abused, run over, crushed in shipping, etc. I’m not against toughbuilt, I’ve got some of their products (the belt clips are cheesy to me), but when I got my dewalt, it’s the only game in town, and I still don’t regret it.

@@KosmicHRTRacingTeam When I did this video I was giving my initial impressions of the table after opening. As mentioned in my closing comments, Im sure both tables will get the job done at the end of the day. My goal was to simply compare both of these models to show the differences. I have plenty of other Dewalt tools and videos on various Dewalt tools that I like. I'm just giving my honest opinion on this table like I do for all my videos. Doesn't matter the brand they all make some products that could use a gen2.

Thanks for the video. I stumbled upon this looking into the Toughbuilt workbench. I've had the Dewalt workbench for several years now. It's been a life savor I've done everything with it if I need a quick table for Christmas decorating or just typical household projects. The handle has been annoying, however my biggest gripe is when I push the button and pull out the handle the legs do not extend and I have to try to manually get them out this has been a problem with that table within I'd say my first month of owning it.

The first one I bought had that same problem. I noticed that one of the rubber feet was touching the inside edge and was rubbing against the inside edge when collapsed making it hard to open with just the handle. I just trimmed off a little of the rubber with a knife where it was rubbing and it works like it’s supposed to. I’ve had it for several years and love it so much that I bought a second one.

I think they should sell a power extension/divider/usb charger that you can clip to a side of this table if you want, with 2 of their clip system. The same way, they could have a holder of vacuum tube end, a work light and other stuff maybe. Also they should have an option to unfold only one couple of leg to support the other side with a rolling tool box with drawers. I think that one of the biggest strength of this brand is the modularity and it should applies to their mobile workbench in a deeper way than just clipping pouches.
@TeamDIYNow

You make some good points as I agree they could do far more with these clips. Maybe make another model that would have more options and still sell this base model for around $100.

@@2hotscottpro Yea I have saw those Keter tables before, but to me they look like they have the same flaw as the Dewalt. I love my Dewalt tables. Had them for several years now and have held up well. I haven’t abused them but I don’t baby them either. I love the built in tray for screw and bits when I’m using it for assembling things or having to take something apart. The handle sometimes gets in the way which is a plus for the Toughbuilt design. But the weight of the Toughbuilt would be a no go for me. The Dewalt is so easy to lift lug around and it has the same weight rating.

I have been impressed with a lot of the Toughbuilt products I have used as well. Noticed they were on sale for $79.99 and I left Lowe's and knew I had to make some moves to free up a little bit of money and right when I did I went back in and thankfully three of those things were still in stock not even out of their shipping boxes. It would appear that the Toughbuilt is a superior design, although not superior enough that I want to sell my DeWalt. I bought the DeWalt years ago before the Toughbuilt was on the market. I was skeptical at first because of the plastic top, but bought it because this is what was in stock when I needed something immediately. So far, it has held up really well, although I honestly don't use it a lot. I did notice that the opening mechanism will gum up over time. The fix is to add a little oil to the mechanism and it works just fine again.

When you buy the additional hubs they will not come with the screws (hubs are used for belts, etc as well). The screws to attach the hub to the table are (2) M5 .8 x16 cap screws. I have had two of the Dewalt tables for about 4 years now. VERY HEAVY jobsite use in commercial and residential use and currently they are holding my benchtop planer and benchtop jointer. I love the ease of use, the durability, and the weight. I have never had an issue with these tables not being flat. If you are trying to use these as an actual permanent assembly bench then maybe that would matter but that is not what they are designed for. I'd say it's not a fair comparison if you haven't actually had work hours put in on the Dewalt.
@TeamDIYNow
@TeamDIYNow 5 ай бұрын
I agree if you just need to put a miter saw, planer, etc on the top at a jobsite the surface isn't that big of deal as it doesn't need to be flat. With that said, that is only half of what Dewalt advertises with this table as they have all the clamping options on the top. If you are doing any type of wood clamping, etc this table being bowed in the center is a real problem. I tried to find a level Dewalt table at my local HD and the entire stack was bowed in the center and some were already cracked just from sitting on the shelf. I have plenty of Dewalt tools, however if you put these 2 tables side by side and removed the company labels it would be hard to choose the Dewalt over the Toughbuilt. As mentioned in the video they both will get the job done, but the Toughbuilt is just built a lot better.
@KosmicHRTRacingTeam
@KosmicHRTRacingTeam 4 ай бұрын
Ya. I’ve had my Dewalt when they first came out around 5 years ago, in other words, when there were NO others available and no one copied them yet. I have NEVER had an issue with mine, even used it as a platform to work on taller projects, and with tools, had around 300lbs and never felt unstable. The problem with reviews like these, that are extremely superficial, just looking at leg width, is that they aren’t being ACTUALLY tested. I’m guessing the legs aren’t the typical failing point. Let’s load them up and see which ones are the actual strongest and most sturdy. Looking at leg width is useless. Project farm would start stack crap on them and actually test how strong they are. Looking at leg width doesn’t tell us anything.

Yea they both will get the job done, however the extra weight on the Toughbuilt is shown throughout the table. The top and corners are solid and flat. The legs are beefier. The underneath has a better mechanism to collapse the handle and support the top. For me the biggest thing is none of the Dewalt tables are flat. I checked about 5 of them in the store last week and they were all bowed in the center before they were even used (some worse than others). Im a Dewalt guy, but in my opinion this isn't one of their better products.

Better quality steel used on the dewalt. Both dewalt & toughbuilt have been outside for most of the time & toughbuilt has rusted & become unsteady. Hubs I’ve changed for spider holster & put a bar across the sides for my holstery joey pouches. Rarely I’ve found the handle to be in the way & more often than not useful. Extra dog holes in the dewalt have also allowed me to use it as a bench for my mitre & table saws. If it had clamps on rails as I have on my worx & Kettering & had a quick connect system to join a few together, it’d be something close to ideal for me
@TeamDIYNow
@TeamDIYNow 5 ай бұрын
I'm not sure I would say one steel is better quality than the other without doing some sort of tension strength test. The Dewalt is clearly a thinner gauge when comparing the cross supports tho. Similar to many tools if you leave them out in the rain they will rust, but I would curious to see how bad it rusted. Do you have any pictures of the 2 showing the rust?
