nice thing about using an impact driver is the screw isn't a foot away from my hand on the tool. Makes a difference when you're trying to keep what you're securing still while driving in screws. m12 impact is a fraction of this size, I rather reach for that on my belt than fumble around with the sds bit on top of a ladder. Let the rotary hammer hang from a sling, then with an m12 impact in the right and the object being secured in the left, my hands are just inches apart instead of over a foot.

I agree, can't see Dewalt selling a ton of these. Like you said, the long sleeve would make holding the tapcon a little clumsy. I would rather stick the tapcon in the hole, give it a hand torque twist to hold it in place, then take the impact off my belt.
@duncdunc76

Seems to me you must be a professional! I build outdoor structures like gazebos and pergolas for a living and using Dewalts system seems like it would be more time consuming for me as well since I drill my anchor holes with a hammer drill and then use my impact to set the Tapcons so I don't have to keep switching bits. Seems faster to me in addition to the great point you make about the Dewalt system being awkwardly long for some Tapcon installs.

Texas commerical electrician. Change out and install alot of wallpacks at top of 24' extension ladder on concrete and or tilt walls. Few years ago changed from lead anchors to Tapcons, sometimes aggregate or rocks blow out, hole too big for Tapcon to bite. Drive a lead in. Ive seen this set up at supply house but seems more of a DIY kit. Personally when working at these heights I wear pouches with handtools, anchors, and washers etc. Then keep a Klein 5109PS canvas bucket with m18 1"rotary hammer and m18 impact, clipped off to top of ladder. When working, the impact stays on my belt and hammer drill is tied off to bucket. Also tape on the sds bit to mark the depth instead of that depth bar. This set up prob work real good on a union job. lol. Keep up the great content!

HILT I has had that system out for more than 25 years. I am a Commercial union carpenter for more than 42 years. Dewalt didn't solve the issue for tapcons, HILT had this system for their own concrete screws. HILT sold screws for anchoring into concrete called Kwikcons. They had a combo drive head that used a 5/16" driver bit or a T20 torx bit - they still sell them today. You can use HILTI'S system to drive Tapcons as well - copycat system from Dewalt as I'm sure the patent has expired.

I see all of these comments expressing preference for just using a hammer-drill and a impact-wrench. But I don't see how - when using an impact wrench - you could possibly know with any precision how much torque you've applied. That's a problem with nearly all (only one exception comes to mind) impact wrenches: they're fast, but you only get a very coarse torque-value. Thus this DeWalt kit: more precise torques. Vince -- great video, and I thank you for creating and sharing these. Do you have links here somewhere to buy these tools?
