This trimmer does vibrate when you first start cutting. It requires a fews hours to break it, but afterwards you are golden. On high setting this things goes through batteries (4ah and higher) very fast. I love mine have zero regrets on buying it.

I have one. I don’t use it all the time. I only use it in the vegetable garden to knock weeds away from the plants and trees. It would be good for a small yard or a small delicate Weedwhacker for somebody that has a huge 2 handle weedeater . It serves its purpose. I’m thinking of taking one of the extensions off so that the little kids could use it. It’s too long for a seven-year-old girl .

Would’ve liked to have seen some additional information. How much line does it hold on the head? And exactly how much time does the battery last at the speeds?

I found it was heavy for a 5 foot 80year old lady. So I put a neck strap on it. Had a battery issue. Have to be careful with charger. After 3rd try..on 2nd day, got a good charge and was on my way.

I liked your video. Helped me very much. I was thinking I was going to return it because of the weight but my son put the handle future down the stem. It’s much better. I live on a lake and have a path that I use this for. Very good job 👍.

I like this Dewalt trimmer except for one thing. if the brush gaurd is full of wet grass on both sides and you try and sprayed it off with a garden hose. you have to be extremely careful not to get and water in the electric motor vents or it will short out and wont work again until all the water that entered the vents has dried out.

I used the 5ah xr battery that came with it and only lasted about 16mins. Someone told me that even a 6ah Flexvolt could make a huge difference to extend running time cause of extra power that would make the motor running better on thick grass. Since that tool is not Flexvolt advantage, I dunno if it would make any difference and I would not be better to put a 8ah XR or 9ah Flexvolt instead. I would like a battery that last 25-30mins at high speed. I am starting to buy dewalt battery, i only have the DCB205 that came with the tool as main battery, but it could become a nice backup battery if my main get drained. Is 6ah Flexvolt is plenty ? or better to go higher ah ?

I'm not here to knock DeWalt, but this trimmer in particular is trash the battery life indicator goes inside the housing, so you have to remove the battery to check the battery level. They didn't even try to balance it, so you will fight the head weight the entire time you use it. The worst part is, the magnets inside the motor, are prone to fragmentation. So what happened to mine is it started to run rougher and rougher to the point that high power doesn't work anymore, low power is still very clunky and in the near future, mine will quit working all together. DeWalt didn't send me a free trimmer to review, I used mine more than once. Take that for what it's worth.

Have had mine a little more than a year. White smoke coming out the motor. $94 for replacement motor on Ebay or $150 for a new unit.

Got the blower trimmer package in spring and I love the idea of a folding trimmer . Before summer ends it stop working. The motor spins rough and I thought it needed some cleaning took the trimmer head off and cleared out sand and dried vegetation spuned on the shaft. Inserted a fresh 6 amp battery and motor whined and seized, no improvement so further disassembly I discovered tiny ball bearings on the armature brining in between the commutator that causes the rough gritty sound. The ballbearing housing is weak and made of tin. Warning to others it looks nice but it’s a piece of junk.. The AI customer service from Dewalt’s Tool Connect is useless. Now I’m worried about 20+ Dewalt tools I bought.

I like Milwaukee and DeWalt. I pay respect where respect is due. I also pay disrespect where disrespect is due, and this trimmer is garbage. It works great when it works, but they can fail pretty prematurely. I ran about 5 batteries through mine, then it failed.

ME TOO! 2nd one same issue, some report melted wires, not mine. The motor failed. Squeeze the trigger, it spins maybe 1 or 2 revolutions then stops. They did a crappy job with the motor/gearcase, let’s grass any anything else in to the motor. Garbage and not why I buy DeWalt tools. Very disappointed. Thing looks beefy, amazing frame, tubing, construction but a WEAK MOTOR. Indestructible chassis with a crap motor.

Didn't even get through a full season with the DCST922 or finish original line that came with trimmer and it seized! Never again. Yes, Dewalt power tools are great, have some that are 10+years old and still going strong! Disappointing!
@weazel49456 ай бұрын
Stay away from these things if you are going to be using it on grass taller than what is seen in the video. If it jams, there is a high probability that internal components will fry and you won't be able to use it again. If you're just using it around a normal yard for edging and don't have any big work to do, they're fine.

I got the Dewalt string trimmer DCST922.The worst Dewalt tool I ever own, it last one year and the motor gave out.Would not recommend any Dewalt lawn tools. There hand construction tools are great but there lawn tools are junk. I just have a small city lot that take 20 minute to mow and 15 minute to trim and the trimming I do every other mow.
