Excellent well balanced opinion on these. Thank you for considering value/price as much as the taste in your rating. I've seen quite a few of these reviews where they won't even mention the difference in price or even the difference in sherry styles, which make a huge difference in flavor. I appreciate Dewar's for offering these in 375ml bottles to make it more accessible. I think these whiskies all have a place in someone's collection at this half bottle size, but the 32 yr is still cost prohibiting for most. Still I'm aiming for the line because they are all different, like the winter is to summer. I believe your opinion will prove accurate, as I have the mindset of judging these all with an eye for value for the money and also against their own weight class. Besides the influence of the different sherries, the age gap between the 32 yr and the 21 yr is the same as comparing a 21 yr old whisky with a 10 year old whisky.

Thanks for watching and your reply. I keep an extra bottle of the 21 at the place where I stay when I am out of town because it is still quality and value for the price.

You've given the Dewars Double Double series perhaps the best, most in-depth review I've seen - well done! For some reason these whiskys haven't gotten the interest that I feel they deserve. These are very well-made blends aged in good casks that have the sort of character that's much closer to quality single malts than to traditional blends, and they represent a considerable step up from Dewar's standard range. Like you, I find the 21yo to be the value leader - it's a bit sharp and spicy on the nose but it settles down very nicely with the addition of some water. I suspect that there's also older whisky in the 21 based on the slightly musty and leather flavors it contains. The 27 I found to be the most subtle of these three blends, with no real flaws, but it also didn't quite seem to justify the premium over the 21. The 32 is definitely at the top of these three in regards to the richness and depth of flavor it provides, but again, it doesn't seem to entirely justify the price in comparison to the 21yo. One warning concerning these whiskys - I've seen a few bottles on the shelf with corks that had lost their seal and showed evidence of leaking. I inadvertently bought one bottle showing evidence of this and it was definitely below par flavor-wise, so take a moment to examine the cork in the bottle before you make your purchase.

I agree with you on the 21 for it's value and it is definitely an improvement from the Dewars of yesterday. I drank blended Scotch long before single malts when I was a young fellow and believe me they were nothing close to the quality of these Dewars whiskies today. JW, Chivas, Ballantines, Cutty Sark, Queen Ann, Teachers Highland Cream (My Dad's favorite), Bells and I could keep going on. I have recently tried a few drams of these old timers and didn't enjoy them as I did when I was a young lad. I think the whiskies of today (like Dewars) has spoiled me.

It is important to first do the research so you can give as much info on these Whiskies as video time constraints allow then the last thing will be my views and opinions. I do not expect everyone to agree with them but sure can appreciate when they are willing to respond. It always makes me smile when I get such a positive response like yours. Thank you kindly for the feedback

I don't know how long these will be available so I will highly recommend all of them. They are decent strength, natural color and unchill filtered from good casks. How can they keep doing it at the current price when their competition is much more expensive without the solid credentials of natural color, unchill filtering and higher ABV? Slàinte Mhath
