I also just tested out on my 5s and 10s an the road skills test a guy in my training class showed me this video which I burned in my brain till I could repeat it word for word I get out on the road this Wednesday. If your in the middle of training or just beginning it this video will save and change your life my whole family is proud that I'm finally happy with what I'm doing for a living. Also to apply the road skills I was given what my trainers called the Christmas 🎄 you call out your eye lead time then your speed and follow time then go down the right or left first calling out things on your right... example: right intersection clear or hazard, right curb clear or hazard then right mirror then back to the front with eye lead time then speed then repeat the same for the leftside going going up down up down if there are a couple right or left intersections close together call out the amount of them like 3 right intersections clear 3 right curbs clear and so on. Don't try to rush don't think about the 2 minute timer just flow back and forth back and forth and you will be successful. I just felt I had to pay it forward to the next trainees because this method for sure is the reason I passed. I loved working on the dock everyone was cool all the supervisors were awesome but at the Carlisle Pa location the driver sups are nothing short of complete scumbags. So hope you don't get gaslighted like I did. I now have a contract with Ontrac shipping I'm my own boss I have my own route, use personal vehicles there. I can even take my kids with me to deliver packages or I can have someone cover for me on days I want off.

What I’ve done here is made it easier to see with my eyes I can focus on each section. And repeat each part over and over. I also try to rewrite them down from memory. Once I have one part by memory I will still re write that part over and over again 5 more times on paper. Then I’ll proceed with the next part. Once I master the 2nd part I will combine the first two parts together and rewrite those from memory. Rinse repeat.

The instructors told us we had to know the 5s word for word. And you have to know the bold letters and why word for word on the 10s. You don’t have to know the definition of each 10 point commentary but you do have to able to explain it sentence by sentence in your own words if you don’t have it memorized. My advice to anyone would be to study the entire thing that way you’ll give yourself room for error. Also depends on your instructor, some are more easy going than others.

I also trained my my son for his drivers test to get his license and the instructor was amazed how much he knew. Plus the pay isn’t bad either. Makes the struggle worth it. Focus on the 4yr mark. No matter what happens. When you get to the higher pay all the trivial things don’t matter any longer.

I came here to comment, listen everyone please, they are not playing with the fact they want everyone to know this Verbatim, my homeboy and cousin who have been driving for years still gets audited on these 5's and 10's as drivers. I just passed my Intergrad July 31, 2020 and I had failed the Verbatim part on July 30 .. they gave me one more time to pass it. The first guy I had wasn't as nice a lenient as a the second guy I had, so I kind of lucked up and god was with me, plus my guardian angel... I have seen ppl get sent back to HR just because they did not pass the 5's and 10's .. so start learning this immediately when they hand you that piece of paper.

@@justinstewart7960 the best way I found for me to learn them was to say them word for word every time I missed one word I'd start all the way from the beginning and run through it again it's frustrating to do it that way but in the end I found I didn't miss anything because of it a lot of people said writing them down over and over work for them but it didn't work good for me so that's why I did it that way I guess it's just how you learn to find the best way for you to learn it

Victor Gross a billboard is literally anything that blocks your vision. When you do your driver commentary behind the wheel - if you goto to an intersection and a brick wall is obstructing your view to see if theres traffic, that is a billboard. Youd call out billboard left (or right) and if you cant see, cautiously move up until you can get a clear view of whatever was blocked by the wall. A billboard can also be if youre stopped at a red light and the car in-front of you is very tall.. if youre too close your forward vision is blocked and you can no longer see the traffic light or road conditions. ANYTHING that blocks your vision is a billboard

Just wanted to update you because I work at ups and I am taking the integrad driving class on 3/14/22 and there is one 10 that is off. The 4th ten “four to six second following time for speeds up to 30mph, six to eight for speeds over 30mph” but the correct way is “four to six second following time for speeds up to 30mph, six to eight SECONDS for speeds over 30mph” but other than that everything else is 100%

You do not need to memorize the whole thing on each 10. Just the title and the summary and then you can abbreviate the middle paragraph

The 5 and 10's stacking exercises on ups University really helped me. I just did them over and over again. Plus you have to say it out loud. At least for me listening and writing wasn't enough.

Did 3 days of zoom did not really go over in zoom. Study on your own. They will ask in integrad class. Mine was 3 days of zoom. And 2 days of integrad with no day off in between.

Can anyone clarify if the 10s are word for word? I heard the 5s are 100% word for word, but ive heard mixed replies on weather the 10s are. Some said its word for word, some said you can paraphrase with saying the keywords.

My Package Delivery Driver Application Process has been GRUELING to say the least. Not even sure how to put it all into perspective. Even UPS recruiters I've made contact with would pull up my UPSjobs profile and say "WHOA", what's been going on here.... I will admit that more than not, UPS recruitment representatives have been helpful. I went through the actual interview twice with two different recruiters due to my application confusion and trying to get it cleared up from one recruiter to the next. My second interview took place this morning 10/24/2021 and now FINALLY, I've been scheduled for my drive test tomorrow 10/25/2021 in the right location.. Part of the previous confusion was somehow a recruiter scheduled my drive test in a location that was 4 states away from where I reside... But anyway, with all that said, my second interview was a success this morning, and due to the recruiter not wanting me to wait any further or miss out on the limited drive test slots, she scheduled me for the very next one tomorrow morning. At the end of the interview, she sent an email that included the UPS 5's and 10's and said at the last minute: "uh.., oh yea, you MUST have it memorized by the time you arrive for your drive test tomorrow". I opened up that email and went 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😩🤔🤦🏽‍♀️! Then I had to run out to go to my current job for a 10 hour shift. Now I'm home trying to prepare for tomorrow by completing the documents in the email she sent as well as try to cram study the 5's and 10's. I've stumbled across this video and have had it on repeat for two hours. I hope I pass this part, because from what I've been reading from some of the other comments below, seems like everyone has had a minimum of two days to memorize this. None-the-less 🗣 THANKS @DustinDeweerd for this video. 📢. Still trying to get it all down, but the fact that this video exists is allowing me too multitask while playing it on repeat in my bluetooth headphones AND I COULDN'T BE MORE GRATEFUL!!!! So, today will just be the 10's I have to recite and do my FINAL DRIVE EVALUATION while reciting the T.I.M.S AND CONTINUAL COMMENTARY WHILE DRIVING. I'm in Las Vegas, so beware: THEY DO WANT THE 5'S & 10'S stated VERBATIM!!! From what I'm hearing about the guy who will test me out on the 10's, he is a little more laid back and will allow you to state the HEADING & WHY verbatim while allowing you to summarize SOME of the body, however THERE ARE KEY WORDS THAT HE WILL BE LOOKING FOR ME TO USE. THANKS TO THIS VIDEO, I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY. I'VE GOT THEM DOWN WORD FOR WORD.....

@@markford2227 You definitely have to buy your own. I have been using Timberland Mt. Maddsen. You can get them at Dicks, on Amazon, or directly from Timberland. They are like $89. I have used about 4 pairs so far and recommend them.

I'm hearing so many different things. Does this have to be memorized, word for word? Or just the title & the why? & the paragraph bit can be summarized in your own words. Does anyone have a DEFINITIVE answer? This seems legitimately impossible to memorize. I have the 5 seeing habits down. my HR lady never gave me my packet on the day of my interview & never answered my calls/texts. few days ago she finally answers me & tells me to study the packet she gave me. never gave me one. so i just found out about all of this. meanwhile i am also working full time job overnight so this is very difficult. anyone have a definitive answer? my class starts tomorrow, lol. 11:30 pm & i have to be there by 7:45.

Take one deep breath, and exhale. I have a feeling you will be fine. UPS needs drivers desperately right now. You have your 5's memorized solid? Good, thats a start. When I went to Integrad a year ago we had to recite the old 10 point word for word. Rumor is now you just have to say the title and why. Be on time to class, look clean, shine your boots, shave (if you are a dude), brown or white undershirt. Don't forget to put a pen in your pocket. Don't worry.

Just had an interview today and they want me to come in a few days to do a driving test. They gave me a sheet with the 5 and 10s all they said was study it. Do I need to know all the verbatim in just a few days or will I get tested on this once I start actually training.

If this is your first driving test with the company, then no, you don’t need to know this yet. It’ll just be a quick driving test to see if you can handle driving the truck. You’ll learn this in Intergrad training

For my group, we were given the papers almost a week in advance, though you go through 3 days of online training before being required to have this all memorized verbatim. 5 seeing habits needs to be 100%verbatim. Dont add or take away anything. The 10 point commentary you need to have the title and "why" memorized verbatim, then the paragraph needs to be explained in a general overview.
