No ma'am. I did try the white crayon hack but I didn't like it.

Yes! It's a great tool for MANY elements...stars, snowflakes, and the obvious of masking other objects. That said, I find that if you don't use it often enough it can get awfully thick, but maybe I'm not preserving it correctly! Your tutorials are the best I've ever seen!

Yes I used liquid latex when I was at art college. It came off very easily. These days I use Motow masking pen, and it’s very hit and miss whether it will come off and / or tear the paper.

Yes, I tried it for the first time last year on a painting of Vulcan bomber XH558 flying over the Needles lighthouse....white cliffs which needed shielding. Very satisfying and therapeutic rubbing it off! 😀 I smoothed washing up liquid in the bristles of an old acrylic brush which did preserve them enough to reuse. Xx

Been thinking of trying out masking fluid as I get braver at painting new subjects. Think it might be time for a trip to the art shop...!😄

Perfect, I’ve just put some masking fluid in my basket! I’ve been umming and arring as to whether I should buy a bottle or not

Thank you Harriet ….. A very well timed Quick Fix. I have just received a bottle of that masking fluid from Ken Bromley Art Supplies. It was a free gift as I had purchased some new Winsor & Newton watercolours. I forgot to order Permanent Rose though 😬

Your Quick Tips are brilliant, Harriet! Pieces of info that I believe benefit the beginner and beyond as new ideas come along and tried and true ones are just being learned. Personally, I often get frustrated controlling masking fluid. Maybe change my brush size and not use the type that has it’s own attached tip? I will give that a try. 😊

If you leave the masking fluid on overnight will it still come off easily?
