@@EarthsAnswers How Many Times Should I Dust My Cat With The Earth D.. Food Grade Version Of Course????

I just found this channel and im so glad i did. You are the 1st ive seen that actually have outside , family , love them even more , non indoor cats. All of mine was fixed but 2. A mother and daughter. The mother had 4 ..took off. I hate her , her names Miss Fischer. She brought me back 2 tiny wild kittens. Marble and Meredith. They both became pregnant at the same time. Marble is tiny...she was only 8 months old. She ended up having 5 . .her mom , miss fischer had 4. But sge has them about 2 weeks before we found them. Marble was still pregnant and nursing her mothers 4. She had hers , in my shed , 1st one breach , had an awlful time. 3 passed , 1 of mamas passed. .im left with 2 of mamaws, 2 of Marbles. Just recently discovered all had fleas and the 2 kittens , worms. Ive never seen any come out but ive seen strange things in their shooey. Thats what i call it. Ive switched them over to almost all homemade food with all the good things they need. Theyve been on grated carrots and raw ground to powder , dry pumpkin seed. Apple cider vinegar , tumeric , baby spinch , all mixed in . Also ground egg shells. But they will eat ground carrots , with the raw powdered pumkin seed sprinkled on top. Not picky they will eat what i give them. Also Kefir because of the diarrhea, which has slowed down but its still goopy . Still full of worms. Looks to be a couple different kind. Plz help. Theyve had secondary infections they're just getting over. Im working on that and the fleas. I know thats normally how they get them. The 2 older ones were birn we think about the 1st of april. And the 2 little ones about middle to end april. Theyre really tiny. How much should I start out with...for them? I forgot to add...i have DE coming tomorrow.

Some say that it is not affective if it get wets, and it is wet in the food and the intestine, but I know it works. I have used it for years for my chickens. I always add it to a fresh bag of feed. My chickens have been free from gape worm and other parasites for years. I also give it everyday to my two 13 yr old pet goats. Sorry to hear it is not as affective, but obviously it is not harmful. I also have it mixed in to my bird seed for small caged birds. It prevents bugs in the feed and I hope to keep all my birds parasite free.

Could you cite the study you’re talking about @ 18:10? I have looked, & the use of DE for intestinal parasite control isn’t supported by any peer reviewed research that I’ve found. Of course my vet doesn’t back that up & vastly prefers to sell expensive, toxic treatments in any case - & my cats won’t eat DE laced foods at all, so …
@EarthsAnswers6 ай бұрын
There are lots of studies but I swear they are buried, it took me a few hours to find anything mentioning the study I referred too! Luckily I cited the study in one of my eBay listing years ago and it has not been removed! I did a copy and paste and found this, it’s not exactly where I cited the original study from but o think Texas A&M has archived it or it’s just buried now! But read to the bottom of the page which refers to the study on dogs and cats! www.texasorganicresearchcenter.org/organic-research-page/DE-in-the-Control-of-Gastrointestinal-Nematodes_vq4463.htm

In other words, no. You can’t cite studies. Nobody buries valid, peer reviewed research. It’s there or it’s not there.
@EarthsAnswers6 ай бұрын
Well yes I am providing the study I never said it was peer reviewed but it was supervised by Texas A&M and the study was conducted by a licensed veterinarian DR O.C. Collin’s DVM from Midland Animal Clinic. This study was done many years ago! There are lots of studies in Australia. This not so true, I worked for google ranking search queries and we had to bury information that was not FDA or EPA approved, most natural stuff was sent way back to let regulated information in the first pages of a google search. Understandably they want that stuff up front! Small studies and anecdotal information is allowed but webmd and regulated information is given front row no matter what you search. I really do not need studies after 20 years of using it and taking my own fecal counts with my veterinarian I know that it works! I hope other people will try it and see if it works for their pets too!

Thank you for the info. I've been giving 1/8 tsp to my adult indoor cat every day, but the tape worms never go away completely. From watching your video, it seems I've not been giving enough. I was scared to give more, even though I learned it was harmless. Do you have to take a break from giving it to your cat? I THINK the fleas are gone. I have a cedar spray I use sometimes for fleas (not ON the cat, just around bedding & carpet).
@EarthsAnswers Жыл бұрын
It’s not necessary to take a break, some dewormings can take 90 to 120 days but as soon as the worms are cleared you’ll want to move to a maintenance dose. It’s sounds like you do need to give your cat more DE but do remember as long as you have fleas your cat will keep reinfecting with new tapeworms. You can use the DE topically on your cat to kill fleas! The cedar spray is great stuff to use too, I think wondercide makes one safe to use on your cat as well but I’d research that!!
@catlady9449Ай бұрын
Be sure to ONLY use FOOD SAFE DE. The regular DE can cause severe stomach upset as it has very rough edges and can cut the insides of the cat.

Both our rescue cats (1 yr old, 17 yr old) need to be dewormed, but both are very picky eaters. If I try to add to their wet food, I don’t see them eating it. (I have coated their kibble with DE, but they can only eat limited amounts of dry or get diarrhea or puke.) In any case, need to get them taken care of so we humans can also go on a parasite cleanse. We’re all bloated, sensitive to food, itchy, etc. Open to suggestion on how to get the DE into them. (We’ve discussed syringing it into them, but 1 tsp is a lot, especially for 10 days.) PS Really do love your channel and products. 😅❤
@EarthsAnswers8 ай бұрын
Thank you! ❤️ adding to dry kibble is better for maintenance as it doesn’t give them enough to do a complete deworming. Syringing is absolutely not recommended, if they aspirate any into their lungs that would not be good! I’m actually editing a video I just made on getting picky eaters to take the DE.ill have it up in a few days! You can start with a lot less to get them used to the taste, gradually add more daily. Sometimes that works lol sardines are excellent at covering up the taste, some cats like it in plain yogurt or sour cream. Experiment with different flavors, also hold off on their feeding or skip one so they extremely hungry, this is always my last resort but usually the one that works!
@private74198 ай бұрын
I really appreciate the reply and the very helpful suggestions. 💗 Found some sardines today in water and without salt. (I had no idea they made them without salt!) Will give that a try. 🐠 If you’re not done editing that video, maybe include what to do with kitties who have small appetites (eat multiple little meals). Maybe answer is just to be them really hungry too. 😊 Also symptoms of parasites - e.g., bloat, itching, low weight, mood change - right? Kitties mostly only have worm parasites? DE good for it all? 🥴 Any suggestions you have for deworming humans, as it’s true that until we’re all dewormed, we just keep re-infecting, right?
@EarthsAnswers8 ай бұрын
@private7419 great idea I’ll try to include some ideas for small eaters! One of the biggest parasite symptoms I’ve seen in cats is weight, eating a lot and not gaining, always hungry! Dull coat, etc! Yes we humans need deworming often too! I actually take the DE myself! 1 heaping tsp in juice. I usually do 3 days on every month or so, sometimes I forget and go longer, lol if you are overloaded with toxins DE can make you feel a little sick, I try to eat clean and use almost no chemicals and I’ve never had a reaction from DE, but I have from heavier detoxes! In my opinion DE is a gentle detox. If you have a heavy worm load you may want to start slow, maybe 1/2 tsp daily and go the 6 or 7 days. Garlic, pumpkin seeds, thyme tea, oregano and many more herbs all these soft kill parasites, meaning it takes a lot of it to do the job so adding lots of these things between DE will really keep you worm free.

I do not know which cat it came from and I also do not find a lot of poop in my yard. So how do I help these cats without being able to monitor their poop? Do I just always give them DE every day? And at what dose? Full 1 teaspoon dose 365 days a year or cycle off and on, every couple months? Thank you!!

Hello Yes I would absolutely start deworming them with the DE, I do have a video on dosing feral cat colonies! It might help! Generally it’s one tsp per cat but you can add 4 or 5 tsp to one can and put that on one plate for 4 or 5 cats to eat from. This is best done for several weeks to 30 days if needed. Once you feel they are clean of parasites or at least a very low load, you can switch to once or twice monthly. @catlady9449Ай бұрын
No. A fearful stray cat is not always a feral cat. Most stray cats are someone's pet that were either dumped or wandered off and maybe got lost. They are afraid of people because they probably have been mistreated by someone. A feral cat is one who is considered "wild" and probably spent little or no time with humans. One of my cats was feral when we got her. It took her three (3) years to get domesticated. She was dumped as a baby, grew up near a hospital parking lot, had at least one litter and was mistreated by many people before she and her last litter were trapped. Her kittens were young enough that they adapted rather quickly to humans and are super snuggly. She is still a little wary of loud sounds and quick movements but allows me to pet her and will ask to be picked up occassionally. So glad to have them in my family. ❤

@EarthsAnswers7 ай бұрын
Food grade DE is not itchy at all! You can try it yourself, rub some on your leg or arm and leave it for few hours, I don’t feel it dries my skin or causes and irritation. So I don’t think the DE is causing an itch, however many cats have flea allergies, after the flea bites they have intense itching kinda like a mosquito bite. If you can get rid of the fleas, I bet your cat will quit licking so much! Flea comb you cat often! And keep applying fresh DE, apply to bedding, furniture and baseboards. Fleas breed off the host! To speed up your cats fur growth, get some good salmon oil to add to the diet! A can of low sodium sardines is great for a few dinners too! This is a great brand of fish oil I use! There are many on Amazon! amzn.to/4bSWCQc

Hello Not sure if you already placed an order, but I do believe a 1 lb dewormer with flea repellent added in my Flea Away Feed Supplement would work for them both! That does dewormer them and contain ingredients that help repel fleas, you’ll need flea powder to apply topical to kill the fleas! My dewormers and flea powders are the same for cats and dogs! So if you buy the dog flea powder it can be used on cats! You can use the flea powder for ear mites as well! Just get a little powder in the ear and let them shake out the excess! Apply it weekly! I do make ear powder blend with a container to dust the ear, but you can use the flea powder! The problem adding it to their water is that it settles to the bottom and they won’t get a big enough dose to do any good! I’ve added it to my dogs water and in less than an hour it’s all white at the bottom and the water is mostly clear. It’s best to add it to some food and feed a concentrated dose once daily for 7 to 10 days. It can be added to dry kibble but once again their not getting a concentrated dose, this is better for a maintenance dose.

1/8 tsp of DE once and then once again 2 or 3 weeks later is probably enough. My cat has had diarrhea ever since I gave her 1/8 tsp of food grade DE (once a day) for 7 days, then off 7 days, then on for 7 days (but I only gave it to her for 3 days) because she had developed the runs. I should have stopped sooner. Her bowels are ruined because I listened to a Canadian Vet. I've tried everything imaginable to reverse the diarrhea, but nothing helps. It's been well over a year. I'm not against DE. I sometimes take it myself. My cat's weight was 9 lbs., now she weighs a lot less. Before DE, her bowels were fine. This was my mistake. More is not always better.
@EarthsAnswers24 күн бұрын
I can’t believe DE could cause your cats diarrhea, it is often used to correct any bowel problems including diarrhea. There is countless reviews with excellent results for chroma and IBS. With that said do you think it is possible your cat did have intestinal parasites which may have caused moving them into the lower bowel and caused a mild infection (diarrhea). It makes no sense that DE could cause diarrhea for 1 year as well, I would think she may have either Protozoas or infection. Either way a natural antibiotic might be very helpful. Slippery elm as well can repair any damaged mucosa.
