I am a former Vet nurse and I have been telling anyone who will listen about this for 15 years! Finally, they are starting to report on it because too many people started to notice the link between chemical pesticides and serious health issues and they can no longer repress the studies.

Hello, doctor. I'm sorry to bother you, but I've just watched your video about natural flee repellents and i have a very important question to ask you. I've been using revolution plus on my kitty for about 4 months as he had flees, after that I've stopped. I'm not sure if it's connected, but in December, a couple of months after I've stopped using it, a growth developed on his elbow, close to the armpit on his left arm. I know when it was because I've seen it on pictures as i take a lot. It looked like a little pimple at the time. I've noticed it myself in late February. It looked like one of the paw beans, about 5 mm pink and round, but on his elbow. I've monitored for a while and I've noticed a growth. Then I've scheduled an appointment with the vet, but before the appointment it turned brown and started to bleed from a side. The vet tested it and proscribed animax ointment. He said it wouldn't make it smaller, but being an antibiotic it will prevent infection. When he was testing it, he made it with a needle. I was hoping it's something simple so the water or whatever is inside would just come out and it will heal. Nothing came out as I've hoped. But over the next couple of days I've noticed it getting completely flat, just an excess skin around it forming a circle. The vet says that the test came in inconclusive. May be cancer, maybe not. His recommendation is a surgery. Over time it filled again and started to grow even more. Now it's about an inch and a half and doesn't have hair on it. It's bleeding a little. It's scary to look at. He licks it too. I'm scared to do the surgery due to his age. He's 16. And putting him under can be very risky. Yesterday I've noticed a new growth near it. It's directly under his armpit on the same arm therefore close to his heart. It's different though because it has hair and kind of like like a cyst. He has some on his body, he's a little chunky. I don't know whether that's a new one I am almost certain it's an old one though that was there for years without changing, but it's worth mentioning anyway. I cook for him for years, nothing in his diet has changed. But he does have a kidney problem so he's on low protein diet - 30% of protein 70% of everything else. I don't know if it can be related to that flee medicine or kidneys, or perhaps something else. I have stopped giving him that ointment as it does absolutely nothing but disturb him because i have to put a bandage on his arm so he wouldn't lick it off. I'm leaning towards a surgery because i don't see any other options. But maybe you have some information or theories that might help? As I've mentioned previously I'm scared to do the surgery due to his age. But if we need to, we need to. I'm currently saving money for his surgery and even started a gofund me for help. A few days ago he wasn't feeling good and was hiding under the bed in the bedroom. Wasn't hiding from me though, i think he was just more comfortable in a smaller room. He sat with me on the bed and eat. He was eating a little less but still eating. When i wasn't in a room he would always go under the bed. This was going on for two days. Now his behavior is back to normal, he's active and eating normally. God willing I'll save enough money for surgery soon, but if there's any option not to do it, i would gladly take it as giving him anesthesia is very dangerous. Please let me know if you have any theories on what it might be or how to treat it. Thank you in advance

I had a beautiful dog who didn't have any exposure to topical flea and tick treatment until he was two years old. Perfectly healthy dog. Then the Vet put some on him without my permission when they had him in the back to draw blood. 24 hours later he had a huge seizure. I didn't connect the two until a few years later when finally it clicked that after every six month treatment he'd have a big seizure followed by smaller ones in the weeks following. By then the damage was done, his brain was damaged, he developed balance issues, he would get confused and "lost" if too far away from me or off leash in the yard. We stopped the topicals, but he was never the same. To this day I feel guilty for not putting it together sooner and protecting him better, but I trusted the Vet and pharmaceutical industry back then. Never again.

When I put a flea collar on my cat, she tried to get it off using her mouth. Her lower jaw got stuck and the poison got in her mouth. I didn't notice until I found her in convulsions on the floor. I got the flea collar off and rushed her to the emergency vet. She was in the hospital 2 nights. It cost an arm and a leg but she made a full recovery.

I love diamataceous earth for many reasons BUT please be careful when sprinkling it around not to inhale it. It's a rich source of silica and can be dangerous to your lungs if inhaled. It's safe to ingest but it does tend to "puff up" a lot when using it as it's so fine.

My 5 uear old pit/lab mix went from being a happy, healthy, energetic dog to having seizures and being on deaths door within 3 days of using Advantage on her. She got better, but lost the use of her back legs for the rest of her life. From that point on all she could do is lay where I put her and wait for me to carry her anywhere she needed to go. I carried that precious dog for 7 years before I finally lost her 2 years ago.......RIP RileyRooster,I miss you still SO MUCH💔 Btw.....the vet adamantly denied that it was the flea drops that caused my dog to almost die🤦‍♀️

This happened to my sweet little Mia - a black toy poodle. She was perfect and then I used that poison as advised by my vet. She immediately suffered a seizure and then progressively over the next 6 months completely lost the use of her legs and eventually her life. I've had to live with the guilt of having a perfect little dog to losing her within 7 months because I listened to a vet's advice. I would never use that poison again!!! So sorry to anyone who's loved and lost a pet. It never gets easier. I still cry over my lost pets, if I try talking about them out loud. I can't even use lotion they say is for the most sensitive skin without a reaction.its not a surprise putting poison right on the skin of an animal is bad. I tried it on my German shepherd one time. She was allergic to fleas, poor thing. Anyway the smell was shockingly horrible and strong and I never used it again. I mean, if we can smell it, imagine it with their sense of smell. But, fleas are tortuous for them, heartworm is deadly. What do you do? Who do you trust?

My pure Maltese had a flea treatment and then developed tremors. I took him to the vet and he said he had never seen anything like it before ( I bet that was BS) and he had to go and read a medical book. I waited in the waiting room for 1/2 hr and he finally comes out and says he found something……..it’s called shaky white dog syndrome. I burst out laughing but then was at his mercy to get my dog fixed. Six months of a steroid treatment and then he had hunger issues for the rest of his life and dealing with weight issues. His whole life was ruined because I believed the BS about applying toxic chemicals to my poor dog. At the same time I had applied similar chemicals to my cat and I swear she walked on the ceiling. I was so horrified I never used them again. I felt really duped by the veterinarian industry and I knew they were being controlled by Big Pharma just like humans are. I really want another dog but can’t subject myself to that type of manipulation again so now we just enjoy the neighbours cat when it feels like visiting us. I rate doctors and vets very lowly on the totem pole of life.

remember our food, water and air (and all of our internal organs) have micro plastics in them now. As plastics age they release numerous carconogenic chemicals. And they are literally in our organs. It's no wonder cancer rates are increasing rapidly and the severity is also increasing. People just keep using plastic for food, drink containers and packaging and keep throwing it. Even recycling doesn't help. We need to eliminate uneccessary plastic from our lives.

My dog has the warts now where the insecticide was used and it doesn't even work any more, my last pup died from cancer of the head and neck. He was only 3 . It was so very sad. I adopted him and the people we got him from sprayed their lawn all the time with insecticide. The vet said it's more then likely the cause. He was even in tears when we put him down, it was so fast and so aggressive. Found tumors and he was blind within 3 weeks. There was nothing that could help. It's poisoning everyone. Spraying the lawn it ends up in our water and on your pets feet.

Just a suggestion to those that have massive infestations: I found a kitten living in my garage that was covered in fleas. I covered her in coconut oil for 24 hours & it literally smothered all of them & the eggs never developed. You’ll obviously want to keep it in a cage to keep oil off your furniture, but I swear by it because it actually works. I bathed her afterwards with dawn & fleas never came back!

But we live in a very flea infested area in the south east US. A friend told us to mix brewers yeast with coconut oil and give it to our dog every day. The persistence of advantage as you explain makes a lot of sense to me now. My dogs had a horrendous flea infestation in 2000 and I used advantage. It worked and I only used it that once, not at the full dosage and not monthly as suggested as that seemed like a money grab by the manufacturer. Still have the original package with most of the vials intact. Ive had quite a few other dogs in the 24 years since and not a single one has ever had fleas. I treated my cat once a few years later. Amazing stuff but didnt know it was so persistent and possibly linked to serious health issues. My vet did say at the time it was like an atomic bomb for fleas... well we know how healthy atomic bombs are for all living things and the environment. Thank you for exposing this.

doc, I don't use any pesticides on my old dog, I just give it a warm bath, shampoo it with home made shampoo (water, vinegar, olive oil, soap), and let the puppy soak for a whole 5 minutes, with a warm towel on its body. Then I rinse, use a blow drier (the heat also kills flees if any survived), and I do this every 3-4 days. We have a large backyard, which is not sprayed with any toxins, not for weeds and not for anything, and yes, there are flees. But the treatment I do works for my puppy! After blow drying, I rub my hands in a little coconut oil (extra virgin, or more olive oil, also extra virgin), and then rub the oil into my puppy's skin and hair, and so I replace the oil that the shampoo washes away. Also, every time the puppy gets a bath, so every 3-4 days, I also wash the bedding in hot soap water, and tumble dry, again, the heat takes care of everything...

🚨‼️Warning about diatomaceous earth: If inhaled it can cause severe lung issues including bubbles on lungs. I would not risk applying it topically on dogs or cats, and it should not be placed where they may breathe it in. I knew a beautiful dog who died from a bubble on his lung due to diatomaceous earth, food grade. It also turns to a sort of slime when damp or wet and doesn't return to powder form when it dries. It will ruin your vacuum cleaner and it's nearly impossible to get out of carpets.

I have used DE for years for fleas and all sorts of bugs around my house. I have put it on my dogs previously, heavily, to get rid of fleas also. I have dusted with it in my RVs and rental properties we have owned. It has always worked well and I have never had any animal have any issues. It is the only "pesticide" I will use in my own home. Everything else is toxic.

High probability that they were not using food-grade DE. I can see this happening if that was the case. You should still use it sparingly and mask up / keep the animasl away from it until it settles. Otherwise, food-grade DE is about the most effective, safest form of general pesticide out there!

I have firsthand knowledge that they used food grade only diatomaceous earth because I also used it on their dog while at their home before the tragedy. We were all aware of the importance of using food grade only. It's not hard to find on the internet verifications that diatomaceous earth can cause bubbles on lungs, which is from what that immensely, incredibly wonderful dog sadly died. I thought it important to warn others, hadn't anticipated unnecessary arguments, denials of the reality or theories. Personally, I will never use it again on any animal for any reason.

I too had the flea infestation through out my house with five cats and one dog. Even tried Orkin company 🥴. Saw an article about sweeping everyday and lightly sprinkling 20 muleteam borax on all places the animals went. After training them all for a flea comb and treat in morning, the vigilant routine worked. Just remember to dump sweeper bag after each go round. The Borax dried up the larvae, and disposing of the bag contents outside got rid of the active ones.

Please make sure you’re only using organic when it comes to soy. I avoid anything that contains soy unless it’s organic. It’s in salad dressings, bread crumbs, in hundreds of different foods now. I refused to use this on our dog when my boys were little. They hugged all over the dog and I just didn't trust it. Ironically, my dog never once had fleas!

I'm certainly not giving flea and worm treatment every 3 months, way too much. I used to give treatment twice a year and there was never a problem.

My perfectly healthy 3 year old Presa Canario had a fipronil treatment, she had a seizure the night after the treatment, and then she developed very very aggressive lymphoma and leukemia and passed away about 5 weeks after the treatment. Fipronil was banned in the EU for agricultural use as there was a increased incidents of farm workers in vineyards getting leukemia and lymphomas, fipronil was used for spraying on the vines.

I use to use those topical treatments but I stopped years ago once I learned how dangerous they are. I’ve had two dogs in a row that developed seizures with no known cause but I believe it’s possible that it could have been due to using those topical flea treatments. I now use more natural non chemical spray on types. Thank you for making this video and for the examples of what to use instead.

My cat seems to love to self-medicate by chewing on the catnip plant. I've also seen her rubbing her face in some yarrow, which is another medicinal herb.

Dr Jones: I'm guessing this also applies for fipronil based flea treatments? These don't work on Turkish fleas, so I had stopped using it a long time ago (also in 2017, there was the Fipronil contaminated eggs controversy. Millions of eggs had to be destroyed, huge fines, sanctions, huge news. They use(d?) fipronil with chickens to combat mites. I was like if it's so bad for us, why are we allowed to give it to our cat/dog friends and family?) Also another question; most stray cats here don't get any flea treatment ever in their life. (I've only given drops to a few cats who clearly suffered from itching and lots of visible fleas. Definitely will only use herbal stuff from now on) On a priority list, how important is it to de-flea stray cats? I know about 600+ stray cats in my neighbourhood here in Istanbul. 😿

Diatomaceous earth works to treat floors - sprinkle a fine layer over everything, it dehydrates fleas. Can combine with salt for more of a dehydrating effect.

Stopped using chemical flea tx years ago, after noticing my pets acted unwell in the weeks following use, and then looking up the chemicals and the actual mechanisms involved. I realized the comparable human medicine would be cancer chemotherapy, and couldn’t justify that harsh level of toxicity simply to avoid what is more of a cosmetic and convenience issue, than a life threatening health issue for my pets. My holistic vet showed me how to remove fleas by daily consistent combing. I was skeptical this could work, but I’ve found it actually does fully eliminate fleas, and am willing to take 10-15 min a couple times a day for a couple weeks, if one of them gets the beginnings of a flea infestation. That’s what I’ve done for years now, and I’ve only had to do it every couple years or so. Some years, there are no fleas at all on any of them, despite them all having lots of outdoor time. It’s important to be observant and catch any colonization by fleas, early, while there’s only a few of them. The combing routine is much shorter duration and simpler early in the infestation. A larger infestation can also be removed, but takes a much longer period of consistent combing, and the combing sessions themselves are going to be longer. You also must have an effective flea comb. I’ve tried several types, and found the one with very close set, rounded, metal teeth, is the only one that reliably picks up any fleas in its path and holds them so I can rinse them off in my dish of soapy water. That’s important, as it considerably shortens combing time and avoids having captured fleas escape, to return to the pet.

Thanks, Doc. Amazing info. But seriously, washing your cat??? We've got an ex stray.l, not a pet shop cat. There's no way you could get him with shampoo on, let alone waiting for 10 minutes.

Keeping the humidity below 50% controls fleas. I’ve found 40% achievable and it seems to also kill fleas on the cat too. The low humidity also improves air quality.

I'm a retired Veterinary Technician and when Frontline first came out a sales rep came to the office to sell the docs on it. We asked if it was toxic and the rep drank one!! She said it was so safe that a human can drink it. Ive always wondered how sick she got that night from doing that.

I’m sure that the tube was pre-filled with non toxic liquid like ice tea, etc. dosent matter to vets because they help pharmaceutical companies get rich. My personal opinion is…if the bag or can says “recommended by veterinarians” drop it and run far away. We home cook for our growing puppy, thanks to Dr. Jones & Tula giving suggestions on what to feed him. I’m very thankful for this channel!🐾💕

One other place to put the diatomaceous earth is in the barn aisles and in stalls. I brought my dogs into the barn with me, and well... fleas love decaying vegetation, shavings, and straw. Keeping the stalls and barn aisles free from fleas makes doing chores and grooming your riding buddy so much more pleasant. For me, keeping an 8 stall barn clear from fleas and ticks, I used about 20 lbs. of DE per year, starting in April and applying twice a month through to October. For that, I used gardener's DE and you can get that at farm and garden centers, relatively cheaply.

We used to take our dogs to the Gulf to swim with us on vacation for a couple of weeks. That saltwater was amazing at killing the little pests, and they would just float off the dogs, dead. After they lapped up that water, though, the trip back home was, ummmm, not so exciting.

My vet always asked me what am I doing abut fleas on my dogs? My answer, we don’t keep cats. My canary in the mine was a rescue dog that came to me with severe kea bite eczema. My reasoning being that if he is not reacting then we don’t have fleas. In the UK there is a spray based on lavender oil that I spray the dog areas and the dog with. Also I keep the bedding clean. Neonnicatinides are banned in Europe now as they cause great harm to pollinating and other insects. All these agro chemicals are causing consequences to human health. The big rise world wide in Parkinson’s disease, including Africa where it it now exists due to irresponsible pesticide use, is a fact.

It's not just the chemicals, it's the microplastics and pollution particles - these have both been found in all human (and dog) organs. Latest study was on testicles - dog and human, all contained micro plastics. As these plastics age they release cancer causing chemicals. Particle pollution from vehicle exhaust is found in unborn babies now. We are killing ourselves by excess, laziness and just not acting when we know things cause us harm.

Topical flea treatment isn't the only way this is getting into water. It's not good for your pets, but it's not what the big contributor to the contamination of water is. Every bug killer, crop, home, ant trap, termite treatment, roach exterminator and mosquitoe/ yard spray is.
