This is a very beautiful song. If it made someone reflect on their life, it served its purpose. It is not a typical Dexcore song, they usually play faster and heavier. Kagami has a great voice with great capabilities. He also uses different vocal techniques. You might want to check out how this song sounds live :)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It's really interesting how Dexcore has showcased a different side with "Still Alive" compared to their usual faster and heavier style. Kagami's vocal versatility indeed shines through in this song, adding a whole new dimension to their music. I'll definitely consider checking out how they perform it live! By the way, have you noticed any other bands or artists who have successfully transitioned between different styles like Dexcore has? I'm always on the lookout for new music that explores different creative avenues. If you enjoy my other videos, I would be thrilled to have you as part of my KZbin Family!

@@reylynx If you want, you can check out Dexcore's friendly bands, namely Deviloof and Jiluka. However, they are heavier in sound and don't have such beautiful clean vocals. Instead, they are innovative in terms of form, composition and overall atmosphere. For yourself, you can also check out bands like Crossfaith ( they have a great drummer), Coldrain ( a very good vocalist). I don't know if you know bands like the GazettE, Dir en Grey. The GazettE around 2013 became a heavier playing band, but they still mix genres, I like their song Undying. Dir en Grey can be quite dark and poetic at the same time, and Kyo's vocal abilities are extraordinary. It is also a fact that this band can shock or surprise.:)

I agree in 100%! But... Kagami isn't woman, you wrote "she" instead of "he" my friend. :D

Hello. :) I found your reaction to this amazing band, what a great reaction, thank you for that. It's really deep song, sad and beautiful in the same time, I love it so much. I'm curious if you would like other Visual Kei bands. Visual Kei is japanese movement as music, fashion and subculture, Dexcore is Visual Kei band, their visual side, all makeup etc, it's Visual Kei, and there are also some theatrical elements specific for Visual Kei bands, and whole is as art, music, musicians visuals, music videos and live performances, everything is used to express art, it's amazing. Of course there are many different bands, so not all are like that, but many of them are, and lyrics are very important. About music, you can find there almost all music genres and different sounds, there are many rock and metal bands (from many subgenres), but also other music genres like jazz, funk, electronic music etc, and bands/artists just love experiments with music, you can often find many different sounds in discography of one band, it's incredible. I hope you will react to more Visual Kei bands. :)

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I'm really glad you enjoyed my reaction to DEXCORE's "Still Alive." It's such a powerful song, and I agree-it perfectly balances sadness and beauty. I find the concept of Visual Kei fascinating, especially the way it combines music, fashion, and theatrical elements into a complete art form. I'm curious, do you have any favorite Visual Kei bands or specific songs you'd recommend I check out next? I'd love to explore more of this genre and see the different ways these bands express their art. And if you like my other videos, I would be happy to have you as part of my KZbin Family! 😊

@@reylynx Hmm... I like maaaanyyy Visual Kei bands, haha. :D So, my favourite band ever is The Gazette, it was first Visual Kei band I've heard many years ago and still my favourite. In 2021 they released song "Blinding Hope", song about depression and isolation (covid times...), but there is always hope, really great song. Song is mostly in japanese (pre-chorus is in english), but in official music video you can turn on english subs, and this song is mix of metalcore and some other genres, I think you like metalcore. :) Another great band is 摩天楼オペラ (Matenrou Opera), they are playing symphonic speed metal mixed with other genres. Song "Chronos" is with metalcore elements and very dancy chorus, and song "舌" (Shita) is very swingy/jazzy. Jiluka playing very heavy and experimental metal, song "Venфm" is interesting, it's kinda extreme in some parts. :D There are english subs in video. Band Raymei mixing rock/metal music with more traditional japanese sounds, melodies and clothes, I think song "百華繚乱" (Hyakka Ryouran) is interesting, I really like that one. I think in these songs you can clearly hear mix of different genres and sounds, but in many cases it's like... bands and artists are using different genres in different songs, so it's hard to show you by just one song. :D But about deep lyrics, I really recommend songs like "マザレナイ" (Mazarenai) by band ザアザア (XaaXaa), song about people who can't be together (in romantic relation) because of many diffetent reasons like culture differences, colour of skin, gender, or even different personalities, I think the way they showed in in MV is brilliant, I really like this song. Another great and deep song is "壊れていく世界" (Kowarete Iku Sekai) by band Girugämesh, this one squeezing my heart every time I'm listen to it... Song about how people destroiyng other people and mother Earth, there is MV with english translation of lyrics made by fan, if you want to listen to that, also song "Mazarenai" by XaaXaa is with english subs, both you can find by typing romanized titles. One of my all time favourite bands is definitely Deadman, I recommend song "Follow rhe Night Light", it's song about complexities of human emotions and the struggle to keep them contained, showing also how people ignoring each others and also all sorts of tragedies that happening around them. There is music video with fan's english translation of lyrics. If you're tolerant person (I think you are), then I really recommend Kaya, he's called diva of Visual Kei because of his ellegant vocal and look, but he's making mostly electronic music and also covers of some old japanese and french songs, like Edith Piaf for example, but with lyrics translated to japanese. Kaya is crossdresser and bisexual, he's one of the few openly gay people in japanese music industry. I don't want to recommend you fully electronic music, so I will recommend song "Villain", it's from last year, so it's different, Kaya started releasing more songs that aren't electronic. This song is about being different, great lyrics, unfortunately I can't send you link to site with english translation, because KZbin will delete my comment then... If there is any place I can send you that link, let me know. ;) Or (because it don't want just show up in results of searching in browser) you can type "the liar of madame tarantula kaya" and first result should be site with translations of Kaya's songs, there you must find single "Villains" from 2023 and click in song "Villain", there will be original lyrics, romanized and at the eng english translation. Also song "Paradox 5" by band D'espairsRay is very special in my opinion, because it's from perspective of person whom beloved died, but it's not about how it hurts that person, it's about thoughts about that one who died, about their journey to another live and hope they won't suffer anymore because of their lost love... This song isn't heavy, it's very specific, but because of lyrics band said that it's heaviest song they ever made, even if they were playing really heavy music and about many different topics. Unfortunately this song don't have any official video (other songs I recommended all have official music videos), only some audio uploaded by fans, and again, I can't send you link to translation of lyrics here, but it's easier to find, just type in browser "despairsray paradox 5 english translation" and first result should be it, from site "Lyrics Translations". In lyrics is used word "samsara" which definition is below that translation. Oh, I think I wrote and recommended too much... I'm sorry. :( Just choose one song or two, I'm not expecting you to react to all of them, but in the other hand that would be amazing. About Visual Kei, there are many different subgenres/substyles of it. "Kei" means "system" and for example Matenrou Opera and Kaya are from Tanbi Kei, "tanbi" means "aesthetic" and mostly bands that playing symphonic music or wearing elegant clother (often inspired on victorian fashion) are Tanbi Kei. Bands that playing mostly heavy music, like Dexcore, the Gazette, Jiluka XaaXaa, D'espairsRay or Girugämesh, are Loud Kei, this one I don't need to explain. :D Some of these bands are also in some other subgenres, but I don't want to give you too many info at the beginning, it can be confusing. Raymei is Wafuu Kei, "wafuu" means "japanese", Wa is old name of Japan, so it's about things before modern times, so all thaditional japanese things. And Deadman is Nagoya Kei band, it's gloomy and dark subgenre created in Nagoya (that's why such name), but it doesn't mean it's heavy in music, it's definitely heavy in topics and atmosphere. Sorry again for such long comment, please be understanding. ;)

Love the facepalm! 🤣 killer song though. The combination of modern core and 2000s pop-punk vocals is kinda cool.
