Dexter: New Blood Episode 10 breakdown. Deep dive recap & Ending Explained for “Sins of the Father”. Series Finale. Please subscribe! 👉 bit.ly/PetePeppers
In the final episode of Dexter New Blood they brought the story of Dexter Morgan to an unambiguous end. Dexter wants to continue to teach Harry's code to Harrison and suggests leaving Iron Lake to find more fertile hunting grounds. Matt's surgical screw is found in his burnt down cabin and that leads to his arrest.
In episode 10 Harrison is put in a situation where he thinks he might lose his father again. When Dexter hears that Angel Batista is coming to Iron Lake he makes a desperate attempt to escape and kills Logan in the process. This leads to an emotional ending where Dexter makes the ultimate sacrifice to set his son free.
S1, E10 Sins of the Father
Original Air Date: Jan 9, 2022
Dexter and Harrison try to live a normal life in a place that they have discovered is not as normal as they thought it was. Will the two of them be able to live happily ever after, despite all the threats coming their way?  Season finale.
10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, everyone in Miami believes he is dead. His son Harrison left for Argentina with Hannah, and Dexter lived under an assumed name in Oregon for a period of time. Now he’s settled in Iron Lake, NY, working at a local fish and game store under the alias Jim Lindsay. It’s been a decade since he killed anyone, and his dead sister Deb has taken the place of his adoptive father Harry as the person he talks to inside his head. In the beginning of the season Harrison tracked Dexter down, and the first season will explore their father son relationship.

Dexter's new revival cast also includes Julia Jones (Westworld), Alano Miller (Sylvie’s Love), Johnny Sequoyah (Believe), Jamie Chung (Lovecraft Country), Oscar Wahlberg (NOS4A2), Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird), and Michael Cyril Creighton. Clancy Brown will play a new villain that Dexter will have to face off against. Clyde Phillips, who served as the showrunner for the four first seasons of Dexter, will return for that role, as well as produce alongside Hall and director Marcos Siega.

The Dexter television series follows the life of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a Miami Metro Police Department blood pattern analyst with a double life. While investigating murders in the homicide division, Dexter hunts and kills murderers who have escaped the justice system.
The series is based on characters created by Jeff Lindsay for his "Dexter" series of novels. Although the first season is based on the events of the first book, Darkly Dreaming Dexter, the series' subsequent seasons follow different storylines than in the novels. DEXTER was developed for television by James Manos, Jr.

We can accept the ending if it makes sense. What I found most off is that Dexter doesn't need to kill Logan. It is just not like him. I wish there should be an additional episode when Dex and Angel reunite. I believe that the Miami Dex will make much more effort to get away with this.

The finale ruined the whole season. There were plot holes all over the place. needle marks wouldn't have stayed there so long. ketamine wasn't used for BHB killings. All of a sudden Harrison is blaming Dexter for Rita's and Deb's death? Dex had sent Rita on vacay to get her out of the way. Not his fault the dummy returned cause she forgot something. He lost the urge to kill when with Hannah so left the bad guy tied up for Deb. It's his fault cause he didn't kill the guy? Why did Batista seem so angry hearing Dex is alive? He always liked him and was always a clueless dummy. Harrison goes from "I always feel like I want to hurt people" to "I just want to be normal"? Really? After slashing a nerd with a razor, nearly killing him, and making up a BS story how he attacked him and was going to kill so many other kids? What kind of BS is that? Then he embraces Dexter, crying about that was the connection he was looking for and why he looked for him and then shoots him without pause and doesn't even feel bad about it. Meanwhile they have Dexter saying "I have never felt love til now" to himself? WTF? He loved his sister. He loved his wife. He loved Lumen. He was crazy in love with Hannah to the point she was his cure. Then this PC who never thought to track Kurt, didn't even know about his cabin til Dex showed her, and didn't have a friggin clue about 25 years of murder happening under her nose, figure it all out about Dexter based on some screws and needle marks? Oh brother. Didn't even look like Dex snapped Logan's neck. Logan just drops dead after firing his gun. The real Dex wouldn't have killed him anyway. He would have left him unconscious with his signature choke sleeper hold and locked him up in the cell to make his getaway. Lazy writing that created a lot of hype just to steer people away from the ridiculously predictable ending.

Harrison's story arc - has abandonment issues - has dark tendencies - tries to kill another kid - feels lonely in the world - realises dad has the same dark tendencies - realises dad's the only one who understands him - realises he's not alone in the world - feels happy for once in his life - SUDDENLY TURNS into SAINT HARRISON and kills dad out of a sense of justice. Wonderful.

When Chief Bishop was questioning him, Dexter should have said, “some trucker gave that screw to Harrison to give to me. She would have still questioned why Kurt would try to set Dexter up, if not because Dexter killed his son. @@SheevTalks She built a strong case that he was the bay harbor butcher based off a few searches on the police data base that showed the bay harbor butcher’s victims with a wheel mark on their next just like the drug dealer and the fact that Dexter purchased ketamine for his goat which happed to be in the drug dealer’s system? Oh and Batista’s 15 yr old case files that he himself referred to as “crazy theories” C’mon, that’s enough to raise suspicion within the police force and with those who know him, not enough for a jury to convict him. I don’t even think it would be enough to go to trial. I get where they were trying to go but they lost me when Dexter ( completely unprovoked and out of character) kills Logan and obviously what happens after that is just absurd.

I watched the finale and even cried while watching, but in the end I guess I’m not totally happy about it. I understand Dexter’s death, I understand Harison is not joining him to be a serial killer, instead he realizes how sick this whole thing was. I get it. But I can’t accept that the man who didn’t even killed Doakes was just killed Logan in a heartbeat. The man who found him way out from Lundy and lots of other smart detectives who has much more evidence against him, just got caught for a google search. And Batista, who always believed in Dexter, was like, “Dexter is alive? Then he must be a serial killer! I grab his file which is at least 15 years old but somehow still just under my hand and go to a woman I just met and know nothing about” I agree with people who thinks there should be 12 episodes so we could see Dexter x Angel reunion, people reacting BHB reveal, people reacting Kurt’s room reveal, and maybe people argueing whether Dexter was a hero or was a monster, just like we do for like 10+ years. This finale was NOT THAT BAD but in the end it’s rushed and missing some important detail.

They screwed an amazing season with this finale. Dexter has never directly killed any innocent like he killed Logan… and there was no need to do that. But especially, it’s really annoying how Angela has failed to catch a serial killer in her own town for 25 years, having dozens of girls dissappeared after being seen for last time in Iron Lake, but somehow she is able to discover the truth about Dexter. Also very annoying how she focuses on Dexter after finding out Iris was murdered by Kurt but couldn’t catch him. Like seriously? This season’s villain was great, also the relationship with Harrison and the flashbacks with Deb. But Angela finding out who he is… hell no.

Modern day writers seem to think that the best TV is shocking, unexpected turns. It is pretty evident to me that they went over budget so they had to wrap the season up in 10 episodes rather than the 12 episode seasons that every single season, one through eight had. For sure they initially intended to reveal all of the dead missing girls to Chief Bishop and that was going to be Dexter's ticket to freedom because they spent the entire season letting us know she has been searching for these missing girls her entire career and how important it was to her. This is why she seemed way out of character in the final episode. I need to sit on this one a bit more and think it through, but it seems they short us 2 episodes and since it was a series ending finale, it just doesn't feel right.

We had Dexter back for about 2 months and for that I’m happy. Dexter was an awesome distraction from pandemic woes. Thank you Michael C Hall for another amazing performance. Clancy Brown was great too. I was ok with the first ending and Hannah’s letter at the end of this season reiterates the sacrifice Dexter made when he decided to leave Harrison. He thought he wouldn’t survive the hurricane, but he did and he lived every day carrying the heavy weight of his actions. Im sure Dexter would take the two to three weeks he had with Harrison in new blood even if he knew he would die. He would do anything to ensure his son’s safety. I know he went off code at the end but with a caged animal backed up into a corner, there is no code at that point but survival. Time to watch Six Feet Under on DVD. I got emotional at both finales, since it’s during both that we see empathy and the sacrifice Dexter makes for his son’s welfare.I really do feel like I’m mourning a loved one. RIP Dexter Morgan.

On the other hand, not only was season 8 bad (pretty much in its entirety) but so was season 7 and some would say that season 6 and possibly even from season 5 it started to decline significantly in quality. I know that Dexter started to decline in quality after season 4 but many fans would agree that season 7 was a return to form and so was the majority of New Blood.

The part when Dexter killed Logan to get out of jail was just so out of character that it wasn't believable. I mean they only had circumstantial evidence and he would have probably been released anyways. It was like the writers were just trying to force it in our face that Dexter wasn't good and needed to die. This glaring character assassination made it hard for me to enjoy the ending and it definitely wasn't satisfying.

The "open your eyes and look at what you've done" line was a great catch and amazing callback to the first episode and made me like the ending so much more. Dexter always said it was important that his victims see why they've ended up on his table, and when Harrison said that to him he realized that it was his time to go. I'm not sure how I feel about Dexter's decision to kill Logan, since even if Harrison agreed to go with him, they would have been on the run with a nationwide manhunt pursuing. They certainly wouldn't have been able to continue living out the code like Dexter was hoping for at the beginning of the episode. And although I think it's possible he could have beaten the charges of being the Bay Harbor Butcher, it would be super difficult for him and his son to continue killing after standing trial in such a high-profile case. It seems like Dexter was freaked out by the idea of being confronted by the life he left behind, so escaping was the best option. I guess in the end it shows that Dexter was capable of feeling and expressing real love, but that he was also still a monster who loved to kill without mercy, whether they deserved it or not. And that's why Harrison had to do what he did. A very tragic but fitting conclusion. Damn I'm gonna miss Dexter. Michael C. Hall is such an incredible actor. Seeing Dexter and Batista go back and forth would have been a real treat.

Everyone is saying the end was out of character for him but I think that was the point. His son changed him like being a parent often does. He know with Batesta coming there was not a way out of him facing the crimes in FL so he had to fight his was out as the only way he can honor code number 1 (always the paramount code for him) but to also be with his son again. His sons comments help him realize he cannot stay with him (as there may be a chance his son doesnt actually have a dark passenger) and he would not allow himself get caught. His realization of his unconditional love for his son and self sacrifice was the way he had to go. I'm literally so disappointed... As many other people said, this season started so well, I was so excited and so happy to meet the new characters, to see how Dexter's been doing all this time and finally meet Harrison. Episode 9 was amazing and I literally didn't even think that they could ruin all of this with the last episode which was supposed to be...Idk, a good one?! I didn't hate or love the ending of season 8, I just took it for what it was but this one...This one really made me mad. You're telling me that Angela, a little cop from a city forgotten by the world put everything into pieces in just some days or weeks? She wasn't capable to solve any case and she solved the biggest case from Miami? This whole thing was bad written. Dexter lived in Miami for so many years, was a serial killer there and never got caught even tho some people suspected him, they did it after YEARS of knowing him. Laguerta trying to figure out if Dexter is the Bay Harbour Butcher was waaaaay better than Angela doing it. Not to mention the fact that Angel just got along with what Angela said, not even questioning it, just went along with everything when he knew Dexter for so many years!! Harrison was such a hypocrite, he nearly killed that boy and blamed everything on him to be a hero, wanted to hurt other people and then after hearing what Dexter did he just chose to kill him? Like, I get that Dexter didn't want that for his child, he chose to leave him with Hannah (which reminds me, We never even found for real what happened to her, just went along with that Harrison said but at this point, I just think he killer her and lied.) to have a better life and now Harrison blames him for that when he wasn't even happy to know his dad better? Like c'mon you could've just idk, never came in the first place. The actors did a great job like always but this whole ending is just pissing me off so bad.

You did a great job showing what the writers were going for (the multiple instances where Dexter shows self-preservation, not altruism, and it not sitting right with Harrison eg 7:20) and that this small snowy time is so accepting and loving to Harrison; ultimately leading him to make the harsh, hard choice, of murdering the only person who could fully understand him. I was satisfied with the finale, even if the whole thing kicked into high gear too late in the series (ep9). Sad we didn't get the Batista-Dexter reunion/interrogation scene. That was cruel to bring it up. Don't think I'd care for a S2 with Dexter as a force ghost but I'm glad it did great numbers for SHO. Cheers!

It's like the writers of this show thrive on making mid to end season episodes and then when it comes to the ending, they're completely allergic to good writing. Tons of plot holes, things that don't make sense, no fan service, nothing. Everything was rushed, 0 logic, 0 character reasoning behind decisions. I honestly believe that I can write a better ending than what was shown. I don't know who approved this, but they should never be let near a writer's room again.

They tried to do 2 things with this ending: 1) Harrison pointing a gun at Dexter is a callback to Debra doing the same, except that one time Debra let him go and that cause a lot of people, including her, to die. Which means they are tying to say Harrison was gonna die eventually aswell. And they did a horrible job stating all of what I just said, because I had to dig up an episode from almost 14 years ago to make a connection. 2) They tried making this into a Breaking Bad ending, the difference is Walter White went out by his own hand and means while redeeming himself a tiny little bit. They did Dexter dirty with all this, making him seem like a total junkie.

Harrison saw Dexter kill Matt, which was shown in the final episode. Harrison early on in the new series suggested to Dexter that he thought he'd been abandoned by his father because of himself, although we now know this is a lie as the letter clearly states the reasons for Dexter's self imposed exile. Harrison attempted to murder his school friend by cutting his femoral artery. He did this to quell his urge to kill. This suggests maybe Harrison has killed before. This evidence suggests that Harrison intended to kill Dexter from the start. Otherwise why hide the fact that he knew the truth Dexter's past and present?

I feel the main thing lacking in this season was a strong villain. I remember when the Trinity Killer was introduced and when they showed his bathtub kill at the end of the episode, I was absolutely horrified. It kept me hooked to the series and as bad as Arthur was, he was truly worthy of being Dexters opponent. Same with how Travis was able to trick Dexter or even Oliver for that matter (although luck just worked in his favour). Kurt had an okayish back story and they just failed to implement it. Other than that, the ending kind of reminded me of how Breaking Bad ended, maybe it was just a parallel or inspirational.

I have some ideas about this finale and this video, and if you’re a fan, you’re going to like what I have to say so buckle in. It’s gonna be a long one. 1. I disagree that Dexter’s decision to get involved with Angela was reckless and that he wanted to, “Be close to the action.” He was abstinent for nearly 10 years. He fully committed to not killing and Angela became his secret sponsor. In this way she’s kind of a call back to Lila from season 2. Dexter learned a lot about addiction and how to manage it. He took the opportunity with the police chief to help keep himself straight. He actively avoided conversation regarding a potential victim for the code with Angela in a bar scene early in the season. He doesn’t start taking advantage of his law enforcement connections until he believes the safety of his son depends on it, which in all fairness, is probably ALSO an excuse to kill. 2. Dexter didn’t just smash Logan’s head against the bars twice and put him in a chokehold. Before he put him in the chokehold, he slammed Logan’s left arm against Logan’s right side of the opening of the cell door while twisting the arm, effectively turning Logan around which created the opportunity for the chokehold, and he used his hips to pin Logan’s left arm in the position during the chokehold, putting him at an even more severe disadvantage. That was an incredible scene not just because of the context, but it was visually very well executed and shows how incredibly lethal Dexter is, can be, and always has been during the series when he’s not bound by any of the code at all... He’s genuinely an assassin. The only reason he didn’t execute Logan and Angela in her house was because he felt that there was an easier way out. 3. Harrison is Dexter’s white buck. The white buck, whether he knows it or not, has always been a representation of Harrison, to Dexter; a thing of beauty and true innocence. Dex spent a long time chasing his deer and using it to practice abstinence; to maintain control. It kept him grounded. It kept him good. It was poetic to see Dexter, after all his conditioning, take his final hike to meet his white buck. In their final encounter, a sacrifice had to be made. He would seek retribution for the death of his white buck, and in that final moment, he would surrender himself to honor his white buck; he would die so that his son could live. 4. Dexter is a force of nature, perhaps something more. I justify all suspiciously convenient and favorable events that aid Dexter in prevailing against the law and other killers with the notion that the series has always had subtle, and in my opinion, tasteful supernatural elements. When he prayed earlier in the season, for example, and his prayer was answered, that was a direct call back to when Brother Sam influenced him to pray for his son during surgery when he was a child back in season 3. Dexter, during that prayer, offered to give absolutely anything for his son to be okay, and mentioned something about being ready when God or whatever force/entity is answering comes to collect. We see a few unmistakable moments like those throughout the series but I would argue that we also see many less obvious ones, such as all of his incredibly lucky opportunities to avoid and escape capture, among others. Dr. Vogel said Dexter isn’t a monster, he’s natural, necessary even, and has a place in the world. The writing sometimes seems to suggest that some sort of cosmic power supports or may be working through Dexter to balance nature. Hannah said that life adds and subtracts. Dexter adds through subtraction. In a binary system of the good and bad of mankind, he’s a process wherein the system corrects itself. I believe during his encounter with Harrison on that sacred ground, his cosmic force came to collect on his prayer. He prayed for his son to be okay all those years ago and in that moment, when he was ready to abandon his son once again, the cosmic truth was that the only way for Harrison to be okay was for Dexter to meet Death. --- I don’t think Harrison will get a spin off. I think it’s clear that his capacity for the violence and brutality of his father came from a place of desperation to know and relate to him. Buuuuut... Harrison still did some pretty weird stuff, watched his dad butcher a guy, and then had to be the one to kill the man he’d been looking for, for so long. I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility that we’ll get a Harrison spinoff, but I think it’s unlikely. All in all, I’m supremely satisfied with the series finale, and the entire series at that. In my opinion, it’s a masterpiece. Issues that folks took up with later seasons became entirely inconsequential to me as I rewatched the series again and really analyzed deeper underlying meanings and such. This final episode was such a thrill for me. I was shocked and invested the entire time and absolutely blown away by Dexter’s strategies, words, and actions. If you made it this far, Dickbutt ❤️

Objectively, this was a well written ending that pieced the story of Dexter together fairly well...However, this is Dexter and we are fans (aka fanatics) and nothing about being a fan is objective. Having Dexter kill the most likeable character of the show so abrubtly was a flat out bad move. They tried to make us feel like he should die over it, but it really just left me confused and dissapointed with him. For the last few episodes they gave us all of this hope that Dexter would move on with Harrison and we'd get the sunset ending of them riding off together to go kill more bad guys...but no, his son shoots him and the character we love bleeds out. Maybe the writers don't get it, because they are closer to the props and fake blood to a point where they have dehumanized him. For the audience though, he has a lot of relatable characteristics. Many of us were born into bad situations. Many of us want to let out our anger, sadness, or frustration. Many of us want to see the bad disposed of (not talking about killing)...and many of us wanted to see the character we saw bits of ourself in find a way to be himself and raise his son, to defeat his dark passenger and be hope that we can to. It is not lost on me that we are talking about a killer, but you can not tell me that Dexter does not very obviously represent a more extreme version of a lot of ourselves. He is a psychopath who acts nothing like a psychopath and that was obviously done for the reason of being relatable... . A big part of the issue really was letting the actors choose the ending when they have to deal with all the disgusting props...I really think they dehumanized someone that we had oppositely humanized.

Spoilers for Harry Potter, Logan and GOT season 8, and John Dorie FTWD, Endgame. Dexter Morgan IS NOT A FUCKING MONSTER. Actions speak louder then words. He could have killed Doakes in the struggle in the river but he didn't, he KNOCKED HIM OUT. He could have killed Laguerta but he let Deb choose who died. Every fucking time he thought about killing an innocent life he REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT IT FUCKING HARD! The Story was rushed and not properly developed in the last episode. Dexter helped kill so many Evil pieces of shit worse then himself. He truly cared about Rita, Deb and Harrison. He is NOT LIKE any of the killers, Kurt and Trinity Ex. Fucking sad. Personal favorite fictional characters seem to always die. And you know what Severus Snapes line is great in this situation,"you kept him alive so that he can die at the proper moment" but in this context "the proper moment" means to kill the character In the most FUCKING DISRESPECTFUL WAY POSSIBLE! I cried like Lara did when she was beside Logan/Wolverine when he dead. And like really everyone when Tony Stark/Iron Man dead. Except both did there deaths with respect and not played like a FUCKING JOKE. Dexter's Death is Deanery's Death all over again. The last 20 or 15 minutes of Episode 10 New Blood WAS NOT FUCKING DEXTER MORGAN! HE WOULDN'T OUTRIGHT KILL AN INNOCENT LIFE. Just like how the in the last few episodes of season 8 of GOT THAT WAS NOT Deanary's Targaryen. And lastly Dexter's Death and the circumstances that lead to his death were done AS FUCKING POORLY as how they treated John Dories death in Season 6 of FTWD. To quote Karen Page to what she said to Frank Castle (who mind you is like Dexter in terms of only killing bad people.) Frank Castle: I need to find these b*stards that took 'em from me. I gotta kill 'em. Karen Page: So where does that end, Frank? Because I look at you and... my heart breaks because all I can see is just this endless, echoing loneliness. Frank Castle: I'm not lonely, Karen. Karen Page: Bullsh*t. We are all lonely. I sometimes think that that is all that life is, we're just... We're just fighting not to be alone. Frank Castle: So what do you want? What should I do? Should I let it go? Season 1 episode 5. Karen Page: No, but I want there to be an after. For you. I'm Karen in this context, I wanted there to be an after for Dexter Morgan because he fucking deserved it. If Dexter got caught I would have at least wanted him to still live in prison. A situation where the people see that he killed Kurt and other Evil Bastard's and that fact would save him the Death Penalty. To quote a fellow KZbin viewer. "Dexter doesn't scare me, he is by far the most lovable and relatable serial killer. He is NOT a psychopath, because he feels emotions like empathy for his sister, his son, Rita, and his girlfriends throughout the series. He despises child murders/rapists and feels guilty when kills the wrong person by accident. This makes believe he is more of a sociopath then a psychopath. Don't forget he is a monster, but he could be a whole lot worse." Again he is not a monster. In my opinion. Hell have Dexter be in Prison but still help kill Killers that are on the loose. pork sandwiches, and Contact visitation for Harrison.

I just want to say a big thanks to everyone who worked on Dexter. The original run of Dexter was a show that I watched and in many ways grew up with. It had amazing highs and lows, but the characters felt like a part of me. It was great to see these fantastic actors and characters again. I feel the passion the crew has for the Dexterverse and the music alone is enough to transport me to a different time and place. As it came to an end, I'm surprised by how it made me reflect on the all that has changed for me and my loved ones in the last decade +. I look forward to re-watching the show again in another decade. Thank you for Dexter!!

Worst case scenario. Dexter is killed. Harrison was sent away pointlessly, to live alone all over again. If the cop took the wrap for killing Dexter anyway, why did harrison need to "never come back"?

Dexter was NOT shot in the heart in fact... Dexter was shot in a non lethal spot if you look closely, there is still a small chance he may have been faking. Imagine season 2 starts with Harrison driving off,Angela turns her back to radio it in, Dexter pounces on her, breaks her neck and runs off... Dexter is free to kill again. just a hopeful theroy XD

Maybe strangling Logan was all in dexter’s head. And he played out the rest of the situation which leads to Harrison killing him, so in season 2 everything we thought had happened didn’t actually happen and he’s still in jail asking for water

How are they going to call him out for being BHB , find Kurt's trophy room, bring Batista into this and just ignore all of the aforementioned for a sloppy rushed 15 minutes of no pay off. This needed two more episodes. They could have had dexter trip and fall and it would be a better ending.

Exactly the finale felt a bit rushed in, they could do 2 more episodes and maybe show how harrison came to conclusion that he wants to kill dexter, and not as it was more like on an impulse of finding out about logan

Yes I do feel like it was impossible to fit everything in 10 episodes and it felt rushed but there were some great things about this show! The nostalgia for dexter fans... the first episode I was like something's missing here? It was Dexter's narration which came back with his dark passanger after killing matt. Kurt Caldwell's storyline was pretty good. Seeing Deborah and Batista was good too!

Writers tend to fail when they force a poetic ending, rather than staying true to the characters. Dexter will always be one good ending short of a masterpiece.
@Overonator

This reminds me of the Seinfeld ending, viewers were lionizing and treating the Seinfeld characters as heroes, as something to be be emulated, and the creators of the show did not intend that so in the final episode they made their thoughts about how awful those Seinfeld characters very clear and hence we got the ending to Seinfeld that we got. That was a similar ending to Dexter, where we are reminded that Dexter is not a hero or a good guy, but a monster who prioritizes himself over others.
@shel0016
@shel0016 2 жыл бұрын
Actually dexter does intend to stop monsters. So that makes him a hero. Now his methods of doing what the law does not and taking blood trophies is what made him anti hero sort of. But I always saw dexter as a troubled hero at his core. Lazy writing and horrible finale doesnt change that. Also you forget dexter had not killed any one for 10 yrs meaning he fought his impulses off effectively

This is spot on. Dude was a monster. He was a serial killer. Even if you give him a pass on the other serial killers, he has a boat full of innocent victims. He was evil, we all wished he wasn't. He didn't kill for good, he killed to kill. The code wasn't about stopping evil, it was about not stopping killing.
@shel0016
@shel0016 2 жыл бұрын
@@thisisfalco3289 you obviously havent been watching dexter. He killed one innocent and thats because the true killer framed the person. And when Rita got murdered he killed an ahole who was aggressive and messed with him. So maybe 2 times he broke the code. So season 9 finale made absolutely zero sense. Rushed nonsense

@@shel0016 that dude you mentioned, Hannah's dad, Deb's Boyfriend, think there was a pot dealer or something like that, Logan, and Matt Caldwell for that matter. All by his hand, all didn't fit the code. That's all not including the deaths of Rita, LaGuerta, and Deb who he may not of pulled the trigger on, but would all definitely be alive if he didn't always position himself to "not get caught." He fit the code. Don't like the ending, but he did fit the code, he himself saw that by opening his eyes.
