It took a little while for the new actors to win me over but by the end of the episode i really think it came together well.

I thought it was as pointless as I imagined it would be. A large part of the first episode was just a reenactment of flashbacks we had already seen but with new actors. It was nice seeing SMG again though, I miss Buffy so much.

I loved it. I thought it was visually appealing, all of the reasons that you said, it had this very like cool color tone to it, I loved the characterization, everybody really brought for those characters in a way that felt so familiar, it truly did feel like going back in time, there were some really cool transitions like when we hear ice ice, baby and we go to the Headshot of the presumed killer and that fades into the shower scene where he’s singing along to ice ice, baby, there were a few transitions like that that I really thought were clever and well done, we also learned some new information, so I say 10 out of 10 I can’t wait for the next episode

It was ok overall, great to have Dex back, but I felt it was way too fast paced, he did not enjoy his first kill at all, no weight behind it at all. He's always smiling, very talkative.. he seems actually happy, which is so weird because that was not in any way portrayed in the original. Dex was always a tragic character, struggling to fit in, struggling to find the right words, calculated, never smiled and if he did most of the time it was forced, had a difficult childhood, etc.. it's not at all portrayed like that here. This threw me off

I’m glad I didn’t try to watch the new Dexter series, but this show hooked me after I heard they were going todo a prequel, I was just curious to how they would do it. Boy did they nail it. To the mannerisms, to how the younger characters look. I’m already liking this show so far

They nailed the Deb character, I liked how they followed code on the first kill, but it seemed a bit rushed, less satisfying. Loved the be intro and outro. Narration was fine, praying for more dry humor. Overall, I was impressed 8.5/10.

I wonder if they will have the current Dexter operating like a Hannibal expert working with them, as an in-prison expert shown information to give an expert view on missions? Bouncing from young Dex to current Dex (different episodes showing different stories?)

Dexters first kill didn’t play out the same in the first season of the show. Very similar but not exactly how it played out originally.

I completely disagree with the actor playing Deb. I thought everyone else was very well cast, but I just couldn't see her in the part.

Give it a watch. I'm a long time Dexter fan who disliked the ending of the original series and the last 15 minutes of New Blood, but I enjoyed the first ep of Original Sin. It's less than an hour. Also, the casting is excellent.
