I think we all screamed at the end when we realise Dexter`s not getting his happy ever after and Rita`s going to be dead in the bathtub.I know i cried and was so upset i had to take a break before moving onto season 5. Great acting all round though ,just brilliant.

Upon rewatching this episode, I think my only complaint is how ridiculously fast Miami Metro caught up to Dexter on the hunt for Trinity. They figured out a season's worth of investigation in less than 2 episodes. They figured out Stan Beaudry was a fake, they investigated Kyle Butler's death, they learned the missing boy was linked to Trinity, discovered all the cases had missing boys and EVEN managed to dig up one of them. Then they SWAT raided the Mitchell household; all within 2 episodes. It's ridiculous if you think about it, they never worked nearly that fast in the rest of the show.

Upon watching up to now s5 ep6, the biggest issue with the show for me is how each season, a major serial killer just ends up escaped or dead. Which to be frank, isn’t really even a plot hole, there just wouldn’t be a plot without it, or not one without a lot of contrivances. Obviously in real life, Dexter wouldn’t have gotten away with it this long, and for the sole purpose being he works at Miami metro, and would have professional eyes on him at all times. In no world, even though they liked Dexter, EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE would suspect him post s2. Also because why tf would doakes have blood slides, I couldn’t believe the show didn’t mention this until laguerta in s7 But yeah, your point holds more weight than mine, as it is inconsistent with the other seasons. /rant I guess

Me and my girlfriend just finished the entire series including new blood two weeks ago, I had watched it years ago. My girlfriend was never a big fan of Rita (she always hated how she got in the way of dexter being Dexter) but when she saw Rita in that bathtub, she was in complete shock😂 amazing twist to an amazing show I can’t wait for original sin and resurrection!!!!!

i almost forgot molly was on the dexter spin off... i always remember her from that show with john majors "lovecraft country" what a brilliant show. i truly hope this dexter prequel is good. knowing it'll be set back in miami is a HUGE win for me because i don't feel like you can do dexter without miami which is why i'm scared for resurrection considering i doubt he'd be heading back down south.

This just happened upon my feed. I wish I had known about this before. Good stuff. Subbed, and I guess I have a lot to binge now. And to say, yeah, this episone was one of the most bitter sweet episodes. Dex gets trinity, and Trinity gets Rita. on a cliffhanger. Parts of my soul yayed, and sunk in this same episode. Agreed, of the best in story telling.
