2nd comment , as to aquatic plants yes they will grow immersed ,"faster even due to avail co2", or most of them will but, they'll need to convert if they have been submerged & you'll need to reconvert them to aquatic growth when you sell them in your shop. Expect leaf drop in both of these processes but, they'll grow like mad in a bog situation.

Java fern and anubias grow slowly so they are not good for filtration, i think you should use fast growing plants for a better filtration
