I just recently learned about Azolla and duckweed can be used as livestock and poultry feed and i find it as amazing and it is a game changer for lowing the food cost of my chickens and ducks.I don't think a lot of people know about it here in America.I watch a lot of homesteading videos and nobody mentions growing Azolla and duckweed for animal food.A untapped market.Love your channel by the way!

If you could figure out the rate of growth of your Izola, you could determine the percentage of the tank to take and fill it with the Izola and harvest. This number with the avg amount of Izola per birds and animals eat divided by the speed at which the Izola fills the tank will tell you how many tanks you need for your farm to feed the animals daily and not run out. this equation in an excel spreadsheet kept up with your bird count can warn you when you have too many animals for the Izola production to feed.

Well said.
@brightonebanda16322 жыл бұрын
It could be very interesting if you a full video of the construction of the "Izola dam" and an explanation on how it develops or if you plant it so that we can have a proper understanding because in it's current form the video is not giving much DIY information on the process.

I hope you are well Dexter! The numbers are similar to my thinking as well, has to the volume of water, and space needed to accommodate the farms needs to reach a point of low processed feed vs. farm grown feed vs. labor to make a cumulative point to maximize your profitability return over a year, and sustain this number for the next year has your animal product grows! I wish you well in reaching this goal! I did not see our longed neck bird Gino! I really love that bird! I have asked many times if you have seen the fruit bat who eats from your hands? In my country cockatiels are 4 times more expensive to purchase than parakeets, and much smarter, and live longer! I wonder if that sounds like a possibility to you? Peace!

Hey Dexter, Greetings from germany. I will raise Tilapia in an aquaponic system next season and feeding them is one of my biggest challenges. I want to produce my food by myself. I want to share my idea with you. I want to raise black soldier fly larvaes, dry them, mill them, mix them with other ingridients and pellet them. You can feed them to chicken to. And they eat nearly everything organic from faeces till slaughter-garbage. Wish you all the best!
