You know…their beef was still super hot in the streets and Nas was looked at as the victor, so everyone ran with what Nas said at the time. But a two decade retrospective has allowed passions to cool and now I think most people are willing to give Jigga his props on that verse.

Personally, I don't think Eminem murdered Jay in this song. It's a matter of styles preferences. And I prefer from far Jay-Z verses, he killed it! Eminem did a good job as he produced the beat for Royce Da 59' and himself actually. But Jay-Z is Jay-Z, he can have all the beats he wants. Fact! Then Eminem removed Royce's verses and Jay-Z recorded on it. Jay is like just talking with punchlines, double entenders and metaphors FROM THE TOP OF HIS HEAD IN ONE TAKE.
