Deye 12Kw Hybrid Inverter - Gen Port - Smart Load usage and Functionality.
Short Video explaining the programmable Input / Output of the GEN PORT - Smart Load functionality and usage.
Gen Port is a programmable port that can be used as an Output or an Input. This makes the Deye inverter an unique Hybrid inverter.
A Generator can be connected to this port to charge the batteries or supply power to the house , it an be programmed as Flexible Output when the battery state of charge is between certain levels or it can be ON all the time when grid connected.
Also a Micro Inverter can be connected to this port in order to supply extra power in case you have more solar panels than the inverter itself can handle on it's 3 MPPT ports.
Also a secondary 3 Phase inverter can be connected to this port instead of the Generator.
Hopefully in the near future we can connect an extra Deye inverter to this port to test the capabilities.

Hi Gigi, Why did you use a extra smart meter from Eastron, is it worth the extra money or not? What is the difference with or without? I am going to install the same inverter and thinking to buy the extra meter or not ... what are your thoughts? If so Eastron or Shint ? Thanks 🙂

Bună ziua, Mulţumesc tare mult pentru video. Aş vrea să vă întreb dacă funcţia "smart load" poate fi folosită dacă nu există baterii? Mai exact dacă producţia panourilor depăşeşte 3000 w (cât este rezistenţa la boiler-ul meu) să activeze boiler-ul şi eventual dacă se poate combina ce produc panourile cu diferenţa din reţeauna naţională? Hello Gigi. There is a swiching time delay in case of grid off / battery on ?

A few ms , you will not notice the switchover. I have servers running on Load port and whenever I switch off the grid the servers will keep running without any problem.

1. What is the maximum consumption that can support on the GEN port? Can you connect the whole house? I have a heat pump, switches, servers and others. The maximum consuption shouldn't be more than 5kw. 2. Do you know if there are any differences between 12Kw model and 30Kw model? I have 3 Huawei Inverters (10+10+4kw) + backup box (without battery) and I'm thinking to switch to Deye + batteries. I have 28Kw of panels (high peak of course) Thanks a lot.

1. Max capacity of the inverter is 12kw , so whatever you put on GEN + Backup port must not exceed 12kw then you will be fine. 2. Think the only difference would be the capacity , else all functions should be the same , but 30Kw is only for HV batteries.

Hello, i have the same inverter. Can i use the Gen port to power directly a 6kw water heater? What happens if there is only 4 kw of power available on solar? I don’t want to use the grid for smart load, I am not selling , i just want to put the excess solar power in an 500 liters puffer

If there is not enough PV the inverter will pull from battery , without battery smart load port will not work unless you say the port should be active as long as there is grid connection , then will pull from grid.

Yes, it will work offgrid also but think the self consumption of the inverter is around 70-80w .. so you will have a constant draw on the system.

@@GigiBeleaDK How much are you sure about this self consumption? I plan to use it for off-grid and when it's night only to power 60W for PLC/HMI, so I don't need big battery, but taking into consideration this consumption it more than double my needs. Other inverters show sth around 10-20W when it's idle.
