Quick question. Mac extends credit to a tech, who collects payment, you or does the tech pay Mac Credit directly?

I’m starting an automotive tech program at a local community college this fall. I signed up for the STP program through MAC. Since it’s 50% off up to $9,500 I figure that it’s probably the best time to get tools. I don’t have a lot of cash, and it’s my understanding that MAC will extend credit to students. Do you know if a 610 FICO score is good enough to qualify? Thanks in advance.

Not positive, there is no harm in trying since it is a soft hit. But you can also use scholarships and grants. Also talk to your financial aid office about student loans above and beyond tuition. My daughter was approved for her tuition but then got a full scholarship plus other scholarships from the community. Every semester she gets a check and buys tools through STP

Don't use any tool truck credit!! If you can't afford a monthly payment, Don't buy!!

Kinda strange comment. First you say don't use ANY truck credit, then you say if you cannot afford the monthly payment. So which is it? Don't use credit? Or be able to afford the monthly payment?
