From the convos, I think the only one who is really okay with the arrangement entirely is Shadowheart. Especially with Halsin's parameter of hoping that your partner would eventually join the relationship. It feels like Astarion is using humor to cope with the fact that he feels he's not enough for his partner sexually due to Astarion still processing his trauma. Karlach begrudgingly agrees due to wanting to make her partner happy since Karlach anticipates she doesn't have a lot more time left to live and essentially doesn't want to die alone.

It’s kind of contradictory storytelling but the dev notes definitively state that astarion is really ok with it. If you have this convo with spawn astarion after dealing with cazador he says the same thing but doesn’t ask if it’s because the two of you aren’t currently being intimate. (Since you know, the graveyard scene 😂)

@@TheLinkeFamily Oh, I wish I could take Halsin as a partner only after Astarion's mission, but Halsin always proposes at the beginning of Act 3 and I was afraid that if I wouldn't ask Astarion what he thought the dialog would disappear, you know? But it's good to know that Astarion really is okay with it. Shadowheart is surprisingly free-spirited and would love to climb Mount Halsin for herself too. She also accepts without much criticism if you spend the night with Mizora. About the Graveyard scene, I feel kind of sad since for AA it's a very HOT scene and for Astarion we only get a kiss ç.ç

Wyll's and Gale's reaction are heartbreaking, but Karlach is worst. She allows it because she wants Durge to be happy, but you can feel that it is painful for her. Was already visible in her reaction to suggesting a foursome with the Drow twins. I'm surprised that Shadowheart is fine with it. When I told her that Karlach won my heart in Act 2, she was so sad. I could have said that I'm not a swan and want them both, but didn't do that. Felt not fair. Didn't get this here probably because I told Halsin that I don't feel for him like that.

If my partner asked me this I would go berserk so I thing they all handled it pretty well haha. I love the way Laezel looks at durge with a knowing look and says “sure, hypothetically”. I think even the ones who said that would be okay don't like it very much to be fair, and it's undertandable.

I think with Shadowheart, it makes total sense because she seems to be very attracted to Halsin, and they share similar values. The banter you get when actively romancing them both indicates that Shadowheart is more than happy with the idea of Halsin being involved in the 'swimming' scene. Unlike Astarion, who agrees because he's dealing with things and wants Tav/Durge to be happy, Shadowheart, Tav, and Halsin as a throuple make a lot of sense. I hate that you have to pick between them post final battle because they genuinely seem very happy together. That's just my interpretation of it anyway.
