307 replaced the 327 in Jan of 69. The D80 spoiler from 68 was used until Jan-March of 69
@christolbert4628Ай бұрын
Then the 305 in 76. 307 never had a 4 bbl.

A lil more obscure is the 283 in the 68 Camaro

AS5 was option code for standard rear shoulder belts, AS4 was option code for deluxe rear shoulder belts. Only 115 69 camaros had them. A82 was the mandatory option code for the front seat headrests, they were mandated by the government in 1969.

What a cool car, great that it has been kept as it appeared new (mostly). I love that it's 327 is still there and was breathed on a little. Awesome.

When I was in high school, a friend had a 69 Camaro with the stock front end. I remember the seat cover material, now that I see it again.

First time I’ve seen that option on a car.

Me too! The owner didn’t even know how rare it was until I started bugging out about it 😂

Actually the 327 was the base engine until slightly later in the model year, then the 200 horsepower 307 became the base engine. My friend in high school bought a 1969 Camaro RS in early 1974. It was Hugger Orange with a custom interior that was orange with orange and black houndstooth cloth interior. It had a 350V8 with low compression and a small 4 barrel carburetor. It had the elastomeric front bumper.

Yeah, I have a bunch of Camaro books and it didn't seem that rare. Still a nice, mostly original car.

Ahh, a 69 RS - my second favorite car only to a 67-68 RS. Gotta have the hideaways! It's funny - that RPO list didn't mention those rear seatbelts (love rare options like that!), that A82 was for the headrests. A82 was the RPO for the optional headrests for 67-70 1/2 Camaros, after that, headrests were molded into the seats. Great video man, and can't wait to see more of that sweet 66 wagon!
@DezzysSpeedShopАй бұрын
The headrests were standard in 1969
@jaywalk6628Ай бұрын
@@DezzysSpeedShop Yes, they were required by law and in 69 were still listed as an option but the option was mandatory.

I thought that houndstooth upholstery wasn't used after the 1960 Impala, which we had. What oter models/years was it available?
@DezzysSpeedShopАй бұрын
Camaros had it from the beginning

Igor knows about American car muscle. Camaro makes woman want sexy business from Igor. “ you won’t see no squares driving a groovy car like that Daddy-Oh’s”

Hugger orange and Daytona yellow were special ordered, not an option.
@DezzysSpeedShopАй бұрын
How do you special order something? By clicking the option box 🤦🏾♂️ Special paint is an option. My ‘69 El Camino SS 396 is special paint code 72 for Monaco Orange.

GM of Canada! I ordered one of those when I had my 63 Impala. It wasn't an SS or anything special, but I wasa excited at the time to get as much info as possible. I still have the paper
@DezzysSpeedShopАй бұрын
Yea that’s the cool thing about buying GM cars sold in Canada. They still have the paperwork available.
