Battery would probably die extremely fast due to the load of the resistance to actually heat. If this was a plug in Ild be all over this. I’m sure for real small repairs this would do fine. But anything that would take time this isn’t where it’s at. Theirs no way even with the lithium ion battery. To be small enough to fit in the pen size unit in the housing of it to run a heating device. It’s not gonna get to far.

This is the exact same gun (different tips and accessories) that Cornwell tools sells in a soldering kit. For 80 bucks. I bypassed the annoying momentary switch and had to make the soldering tips much more "pointy" to make it more efficient and user friendly. But the iron itself and battery do pretty well with battery life and it get crazy hot very fast. I should just try to buy the staple holder tip and give it a whirl.
