Having travelled solo in a double-bed sea view room on the same ferry, your cabin looks rather better as there's somewhere to sit that's not the bed (which has a very uncomfortable lip on the side furthest from the window, if you're sitting with your legs hanging down).

Taking your own alcoholic drinks on board IS allowed! They only prefer you to drink that in your own cabin and not elsewhere.
