Thanks so much! I just got the QCT5 and I was wondering how to do this. I used to work in cybersecurity for the USAF and I felt right at home listening to your tech language. :) You sound like you work on a software development team or in an IT department somewhere. Thanks again!

I just read this at the Grace website www.graceframe.com/en/automation/qct/specs#tablets: "Already have your own collection of digital patterns? The following file types can be opened by any version of QCT4 and some versions will also allow you to export or batch import any of these file types. " DXF CMD CQP HQF QLI TAP TXT XY SSD Qdata

There were 2 files that had the extension 'QLI in the folder. How do you know which one to use? Why did you pick the one you did and not the other?
@dfgeorge6 жыл бұрын
Hi Susan...very good question. When I made that video, I just chose one of the 2 QLI files at random, likely the one with the name that was similar to the names of the rest of the files. (FYI: It is rare to have 2 QLI files in the same ZIP folder.) I just now went back to check, and it turns out that the contents of the two QLI files in that folder were EXACTLY the same, so no matter which one I picked, I would have been just fine. If you come across a folder with multiple ZIP files, and you are not sure which one to choose, just do what I did and pick a random one as well. If QCT correctly converts your selected QLI to a GPF, and the end result looks like what you expected, then you are all set. Otherwise, you can pick the other one and see what happens with it (although I personally would be very shocked if multiple QLIs in a folder would produce different results for the same pattern). Of course, you can always go back to the company from whom you purchased the pattern to get their guidance on which QLI to choose. Hope this helps!

This may be helpful....it's from the Facebook page of Quiltmagine facebook.com/pg/Quiltmagine-665464126896099/posts/?ref=page_internal Quiltmagine January 15 · Importing Patterns is easier in QM Update I think you will like the easier method for importing patterns in the updated QM. You will still find the Import button by opening Plug-ins on either the Select & Sew or Pantograph screen. The button is now called Batch Import because instead of importing patterns one at a time, you can select multiple patterns to import, ie. "batch." Tapping on Batch Import the screen that opens looks like other windows used to open pattern files. At the bottom of the screen is a list of all of the file types that QM recognizes. What is easier now is that you don't need to filter file types, QM not only will pull the files that could be imported and display them on the screen but automatically convert the file to a .GPF file keeping the file name when they are imported. Procedure: (1) Browse to the location in your computer or tablet by tapping on the New Drive button (top left). (2) Find the pattern folder you want to import and open in. QM will filter the folder displaying file extensions that can be imported. (3) At the bottom of the screen are two buttons on the left, Multi and All/None. Select the Multi button first, then the All/None, or click on the patterns you want to highlight. (4) Once all files are selected that you want to import, select the Import button (bottom right) On the screen you will see some text as QM works to import the patterns. The imported patterns will be found in the Patterns directory (Patterns tab) in a folder named Batch. Each pattern will retain its original file name along with the original file format, but be saved in .GPF and ready to use in QM. Patterns can be moved from the Batch folder to another more appropriately named folder by using the Copy and Paste feature at the bottom of the pattern file screen. Again, by selecting Multi several patterns can be copied and pasted at the same time saving time. Once copied to another folder, the patterns in the Batch folder can be deleted. Double check to make sure they were placed in another folder first before deleting them in Batch. If you clean out the Batch folder each time, then it is easier the next time you Import patterns.
