This is a great intro to DFIR, thank you for presenting it. One impediment for newbies seems to be the overwhelming number of specialties within the field. It seems that learning how to pare down extraneous information & how to focus on the areas which interest you the most would make for another good presentation.

That's a great insight, James. We'll take that into account.

I think that applies to professionals as well, in general you can't be an absolute expert in all of those areas therefore you need to know your limitations and when to engage with specialists.

Nice presentation, the image metadata part made me smile because it was essentially at the heart of my Bsides 2021 presentation :-) Always thoroughly enjoyed the SANS courses I've completed (14) especially the forensic ones.

I remember the BTK killer. I just read about him in my forensics book.

This was a great video. One thing that stood out, just because of my stupid misophonia, is that the tisk/smack sound you made before speaking. It drove me nuts, but that is a personal issue 😏, still great video.
