A prefix and suffix are attached to a single word. Decode. Reappear. These are examples of a prefix. An adjective describes a noun…in this case, the Scorching Staff.

its mainly gaming terms from arpgs like poe/poe2, especially when HoH2 classes/specializations/skills/enchanting are quite similar to poe style. Strictly english speaking it is correct those are all called adjectives and not an affix at all. But people eventually got tired of saying front adjectives and rear/back adjectives and just call it prefix/suffix to simplify things. Most people don't even know affix is meant for a single word anyways, they just see 'prefix' = in front of item and 'suffix' = at the back of the item and it makes sense.

What made this confusing originally is the interface. The enchanting screen is just not very intuitive and clear until you realize that you're selecting between a prefix and suffix at the top.

really good vid, just one thing. pretty sure that the +fire dmg that you have on the weapon and offhand applies only to the given weapon/offhand and not to the spells. spells benefit from +%fire dmg so that is what you looking for to boost fireball and hydra, not a fire staff.

Noob question. I have guild hall at lvl 7 but still don’t have the enchanter in town. Do I have to unlock it in some other way first? Again thanks for all your great videos

It's possible you'll need to build other buildings first. There's a hidden unlock tree behind the scenes...keep building the lower tier stuff and eventually you'll catch up and see everything.

Question for you! I found the “of craving” blueprint, which is 1 health per hit on a weapon. I have a dagger that I found with that suffix, but I’m unable to put this suffix on other daggers, even though I’ve found the blueprint. I can only seem to put it on swords (strength weapons). Weird that it clearly can be on a dagger but it won’t let me manually do it.

All of my dirks, daggers, and dual daggers seem to have that "of craving". Perhaps the blueprint is sword specific but I don't think that's it. You may want to submit a bug on the HOH2 Discord.

@DadsGamingAddiction strange. I just checked again and it looks like only the dual daggers aren’t showing it as an option, whereas the one hand dagger does.

I thought (@2:30) you don't gather those from the 'environment' but rather the items you've gotten through your run if you die/clear ... get turned into those items? or is there other ways to get those?

This is probably a dumb question: Is there ever a reason to use a two-handed staff on wizard or sorcerer instead of a mainhand and an offhand? To me it looks like you basically get double the stats if you use a main and offhand.
