@@johannageisel5390 It's the last step of putting on a sterile gown. The strap has to go around your waist, but moving your gloved hands behind your back has risk of contamination. So instead you give the card to somebody else, turn around 360 degrees, and yank the strap and tie it around your waist. The person holding the card is supposed to grab the card firmly, so the strap can be yanked away. If they don't, the non-sterile card will be yanked along and contaminate everything.

With all due respect Dr. Glaucomflecken, I'm going to need you to define "accomplished" in relation to the lore. Although Cardiology has more publications and golden trinkets, the training that Neurology and Neurosurgery had to endure is far more intense. Understanding the brain requires a mastery of knowledge that far exceeds the requirements for understanding the other, lower organs. I HOLLERED when they said "no EEG in history has ever captured seizure activity". And that's as a healthcare worker and a mom of a kid with seizures who's had EEGs. Hilarious.

“Neurosurgery, no EEG in history has ever captured seizure activity”. 😂 This reminds me of an appointment to a neurologist I took my son to. He has epilepsy and at that time I noticed he might need an adjustment on his medication. We are at the appointment and when the doctor entered the room I started to notice the beginning of a seizure in my son. I informed the doctor and went to my son so he wouldn’t fall off the exam table. As it started I was timing it and the doctor and I did all the normal things. But after as my son was still not quite with it the doctor said “I wish I could have caught that on an EEG”. Doctors will always…well be doctors I guess. 😂😂

I also believe it's time for a How to Ace your Neurology residency interview. I can tell you my trail had a lot of fun one liners... "so why did you go to some no named medical school?", during a sit in with residents presenting overnight admits "let's see if a student can correctly localize what you can't", "what's your favorite reflex?"

So Neurosurgery's tendency to Neutral Evil goes all the way back to childhood. Yikes. Fascinating.

Trying to imagine my brother as a neurologist now… maybe if I hadn’t given him so many craniotomies as a child.

You encounter Neurology and think "Oh, he's the worst", and then you meet Neurosurgery and you're like "Oh, actually Neurology is the more tolerable of the two" lol
