Ah yes, 'teeth'. Since those aren't covered by most insurance, I like to call them "luxury bones"

In my experience dental insurance is WAY cheaper and more reliable than health insurance. And that's saying something. The OOP fees are more reasonable, preventive care is cheap as chips. It's the unexpected nastiest of car accidents and root canals from systemic diseases and other poor habits that gets you there.

I've come across many back in the day that never told you about flossing or washing or anything preventative and that would kill the nerve just for the expensive future implants. since we joined the EU a lot of dentists have to abide by human rights and modern laws. now young dentists teach about preventative care and fear the google reviews so they actually sterilize their instruments and mostly give you fillings that don't fall out and even try and save our nerve and now anesthetic is mandatory and included in the price. I grew up in the wilderness now looking back, nice to be in a somewhat civilized society.

4/5 dentists would agree with you. I'm the 5th. This is such a powerful line I'm surprised I haven't seen a dentist who uses it yet

As a guy who’s grandpa was a self employed dentist for decades. This is accurate. Man loves teeth and plays sooo much golf

As a dental hygienist I appreciate the students wanting to know more about teeth

After a year of hospital dentistry, I can confirm that physicians don’t know anything about teeth (all according to plan 😏)

My first dentist is in jail. She did mess my teeth up to a degree that from 20 on to 30 i had to spend thousands. But she's in jail for fraud, i think. About 10ish years ago, I asked my super friendly, very young new dentist about stereotypes in medicine... He told me, that dentists did have the stereotype of being coke heads and in general on the druggy side, but, haha - not anymore of course - hahaha ha. ha. eye twitch. That was the best dentist i ever had. Sadly I moved. My current dentist is down to the look Sam from the Lord of the Rings movies. Super kind, friendly and a bit potato-y. And luckily also really good.

I'd also like a Sam for a dentist!

“Four out of five dentists would agree with you.” *boss music intensifies* “I’m the fifth dentist.”

Now i just need an ENT and an exasperated Audiologist following them up by lecturing the physicians on effective communication strategies!
