@productsreview31 I'd say around 30-40 hours with an instructor and 10 hours of private practice, but people have done it in a lot less. My advice is to learn a lot from driving lessons on KZbin and apply that in both your private practice and practice with your instructor. That way you need fewer lessons.

Hey there, Ole from Hanover Germany here. Had a lesson with the manual and everything was going well except me sometimes being too shy to drive off a bit faster. However tho it all changed when I had to turn right and there were so so many children coming from school and I was overwhelmed and didn't know what gear to choose and I wasn't in full control of the clutch anymore and so I then right after that just told my instructor that I will be searching for a parking spot now so that I can calm down. This may have been the worst of my driving lessons but I think I learned a lot from it and I am thankful for my instructor supporting me so much and I am positive that I will soon be more confident at driving. I woukd actually say that I already am responsible enough tbh. Well anyways, I am very thankful for this serious mistake because it showed me what to work on but it also showed me what I can do.

Best way for clutch control is that most cars move off in first at 2,000 or 2,500 revs, maintain that while slowly applying gas. In situations with that red Audio on a slight hill, I always apply my handbrake, get the biting point and release when the car is ready to move. And always keep calm, stress is what failed me a few times on my tests, just don't think about trying not holding up people behind you, if they beep you then sod them. They have to wait. Everyone who drives had to learn at one point. Calmness is what passed me with only 2 minors. Just try not to be too happy with the gas. And when you're on roads with tight spaces, my instructor always said to me is to trade speed for space, approch slowly and saftley, other cars on the other side of the road will give you space as they know you need it. As long as you show to the examiner that you are confident and a safe driver that is in control, it's an easy pass.

Jessica is actually a decent driver, the first half off the video she clearly demonstrates that she knows how to drive. However, her issue is that she gets flustered and after the manoeuvre she lost confidence and it all fell apart. I've been driving for nearly 20 years. Just three weeks ago I had to drive a corporate hire car in an unfamiliar town with absolutely rotten road layout, even with sat-nav it was a bloody nightmare, the traffic was diabolical and more than once I was frozen out of the lane I wanted or ended up going the wrong way and having to turn back because the junction layouts made zero sense. Awful. Won't name the town in question but it was neither very walkable or easily drivable, in other words a total bloody mess of a place.

Ah bless her she seems quite nervous especially driving in new areas. But it comes with practice, and I’m sure when she passes she can use that anxiety to be a thoughtful driver! Edit: I also think not knowing what’s “right” to do is a problem for her. This happened on my test, I pulled up and because it was busy traffic built behind me, I didn’t know whether I could pull out whilst they were there or not, so I ended up waiting and getting a minor for hesistation. On the pull up on the right, I think that’s what went wrong, she didn’t know what she “could” do so ended up avoiding any “risks” and picking up minors/serious as a result.

As a driving instructor you have to factor in these things to the wear and tear of your car. Some drivers will have never ever set foot in a car. Hazard of the job I had an instructor would never allow me to dry steer but passed my test after dry steering manoeuvres. He was more worried about his tyres than teaching me. This does not help.

I think she’s a good driver but clearly doesn’t know how to hill start properly. Almost every single time if not every single time she had a hill start she immediately went to accelerate when firstly you need to get the biting point by holding the brake and then accelerate. Even when she did that last hill it worked out but she once again went straight to the accelerator even though the instructor told her to not do that. That’s where I spotted she felt most unsure about. She’s a good driver that just needs to work on the hill start and I hope she passes after some work :DD

It’s a tax write off. Less to pay to Keir Starmer. That’s the way I see it
