THAT pALM SpRiNGs SURF CLUB UPDATE

I got early access to test out the updated pool at the Palm Springs Surf Club. Even got the opportunity to MAKE a wave as you'll see in the video, which was insane! But we do a deeper dive in this piece to help you understand a little bit of the Palm Springs Surf Club's journey up until now, as a good friend of mine, Cheyne Magnusson, takes us through his the mindset of being site manager and the main wave DJ of a colossal project like this.
Had a blast making this and seeing this project come to life. Sounds like there will be big things coming out of here in the future, excited to see how this impacts surf culture as a whole :) Obviously pools will never replace the ocean, but I think they will play a big part in making surfing accessible to more people. #SURFTHEEARTH

i know the wave loch guys really well - i did all of their logistics for their flow rider and flow barrel for years - i did all of the logistics for their installs in Singapore, Europe, China, India, UAE, Mallorca, Canada, all over the usa and the Carnival cruise lines. its awesome to see them grow the technology and come up with an awesome new wave pool. looks mind blowingly fun. $200 for 1-hour session. About 10-11 people share it with you. There are 3 waves in each set, then a break. Each set lasts 2 minutes = ~90 waves in the one-hour session. If everyone is "cool" and trades waves, that means you get a shot at about 7-8 waves, in ONE hour....for $200. It would kill me knowing I'm spending $25+ every time I fall or miss a wave.

Well how much would you spend on a surf trip where waves aren’t guaranteed ? there’s no “guarantees”that you wouldn’t fall on the wave of the day anywhere for any price is my point. Also none of us are breaking down each wave anywhere by the dollar cause it’s all priceless… I think the beauty of wave pools is you CAN break it down per wave and if you just wanna ensure you get waves and want to focus on leveling up performance, pools are a great option …

interesting perspective coming from a guy who doesn't have to worry about the cost of surfing here. I'm coming from the perspective of 99% of your subscribers, where money is tight, the economy sucks and spending $200 to surf for only 1-hour and get a "chance" at 7-8 waves MIGHT not be worth it. I share the truth, I got nothing to "support" like you do...so I want those who consider to see what they're getting in to. My prediction, most will be stoked they tried it ONCE and will walk away saying it's sick, but way too expensive to do again. That's my opinion, who knows how it plays out. @@DylanGravesYT
